Where's the November "What's on your Workbench"?

It's been a while since I had something to share on the Workbench thread.
This 1/2 carved 15" Black Crappie is finally coming off of my workbench. Should have had it done a long time ago but better late then never.

Nice!
I caught two 18" crappie in one day ~20 years ago, have pics somewhere, they would make a great carving like that!

Tim that is awesome, I'm not big on fish mounts but if I get a monster tog I would love to have a carved masterpiece like that.

I'd have to go back and look at the pics to make sure. But I think they were whites.
Crappie fishing is a whole nother ball down here vs. were I grew up in PA.
Back when my Dad and I fished the Alabama River lakes and Lake Jordan north of Montgomery, 14-15" crappie were "normal", nothing to really brag about. 16-18" were braggin' fish.
The 2 - 18"ers came from Lake Jordan during pre-spawn (late February). We only caught about 20 fish that day, but most were big females, and none were under 12" if I remember correctly.

Closing out November - a bluebill drake from a pair I have in the studio.

Went with the spatter over the combing again. Hen up next, and based on past experience, it's a tough bird to spatter-paint.

Duck and/or goose seasons starting up in OH, KY, & Indiana this weekend. I'll pass 'til Monday when the opening day crowd is back to work ;-) ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Raining too hard to take Bull for a hunt so I made a big brown trout buck for my son who lives in Colorado and he specializes in streamer fishing for big browns. I'll post final pictures when I finish it.

You r help is always appreciated Pat. My OCD son and 89 year old father in law asked me the same question. They don't know how to find things if they aren't put back in some designated spot. I think it inhibits creativity. I know where everything is, I just need to find it.

Here's an ash urn I started back in the spring but didn't get the ashes till this month. Got on it then...

Keith I really dig the left carving marks on the breast of that bird!

I haven't carved a duck in a while, but it is wood, it is a bird, does this count?
