Whitham Scull Value?

I have a Whitham scull I am considering selling. What is it value? The Whitham is a all fiberglass 2 person design. It is about 18 feet in length. I have removed the original rivits and fiberglass the seam, at the suggestion of Mr. Whitham, otherwise it is stock.

Even I we consider this a "non-classifieds" post you still have 26 to go ;-) ;-)

Let me guess; the original molds were lost in a fire.

Mine is not going anywhere yet. Not until my new to me Merrymeeting is ready to hunt, but I am interested in its value. I have a friend that I have been discussing the boast with. I have purchased 7 duck boats over my hunting career, sold 1, permanent loaned 2 to a hunting buddy, and the others are in my wife's sight. She says I have too many duck boats (like that is even possible). If the boat id worth 100 buck I would rather loan it to him and retain ownership. If it is worth a 1,000 than I would sell it.

I have heard two versions of what happened to the mold. I did not ask Mr Whitham when I spoke with him. One was the lost in a fire. The other was that it was sold, and cut apart, widened and they built a similar but wider scull.

By the way here in Maine there is a local classified publication that is the way to sell most things.

Hi David:

Tell us about your new scull . . . . . pictures?

Assuming your boat is in good condition I'd be surprised if it wasn't worth closer to $1000 than to $100. If you advertise it for sale, I'd make sure you include northern Mass and NH. Don't know if those folks watch Uncle Henry's like we do.

Also, google just turned up a nice video from NH Public TV of a Whitham in action: http://video.nhptv.org/video/1803473212/

Just to be clear, at this point the scull is NOT FOR SALE. I need a value so I can discuss things with my friend. If he does not end up with the boat either on permanent loan or by buying it I will list it here (assuming I have 30 posts ;) )

I'll share a photo once I can figure how to shrink the file size.
