Why are toyota sales guys so bad???

I was married to a Girl from Tokyo once. It was a rough 11 years. The Japanese don't know jack squat about duck hunting.
I seem to be in that exact same situation at this moment and that is all I will say about that................

huh, have the exact opposite here in Green Bay. The local guy has won top dealership in the nation some 5-7 times or something stupid like that. Basically he moves a lot of units. But, if you go in there and talk turkey on any vehicle, they know the stats comparisions to other vehicles, pretty much what you want to know. Only problem for me is the cost is higher than I want to currently pay so I buy used. But I will say I beleive it is just your luck as far as region, because next town down in the Valley has another high volume/good dealer for yots.

Oh, and a lot of their cars ARE American made, or significant portions of them.

Either way, good luck with the shopping.

Damn Phil...Who builds your ramps there. We do it a lot different here. We drive the boat up towards shore then On the trailer. You have to be a good driver to drive the trailer out to the boat!....Hehehe....Nice truck none the less.

There are a couple spots on Michigan like this... I have since found a cut that you can back 30 yards out into the lake rather than driving out....

Lots of good stuff as always - couple laughs, some good experiances, and minimal BS. Thanks as always.

My toyota experiance with the actual vehicles has been quite good. My tacoma is a great small truck - it was just what I wanted: well made, fuel efficient, off road capable machine that towed a couple thousand pounds well. It is just the sales and service consultants that I can't understand. I put up with Toyota for the Tacoma because in a smaller truck no one can touch their quality and features - so I dealt with our local dealers and found them all lacking. In looking up the user reviews it does seem like we are in a little bit of a low quality area as far as the dealers. The the four local Toyota dealers get more bad ratings than what I would say is average (this is just me searching on the internet). I have no doubt that good Toyota dealers exist, that is why I asked, I wanted to hear that someone had a decent experiance. Going in and asking for the best guy with trucks and getting a dumbass that doesn't understand the basics of 4 wheel drive and the different truck packages drives me nuts to have it happen over and over again got tiresome.

We will see what I end up with.

hey Phil, you ever heard of guys getting tickets for doing that? There is a guy up in the Door that gives them, claims something about lake bottom blah blah something...I have to check with the Bro in law who is a judge, but I have run into a few guys who used to do that but stopped because of tickets.

Either way, nice truck!!

Whatever you end up buying, make sure it has plenty of 12v powerpoints to recharge the mojo's.

Oh, and I've had the same F150 with the small V8 since Nov. 2001. Its been a great truck, other than maint. items (oil changes, wiper blades, 1 set of brake pads, tires), havent put more than $1,000 in repairs into it. Got 165,000 on it. If I had to buy right now, I would be getting an F150 Supercrew.

On my second Toyota Tundra and have had very good luck. Current one has 197,000 miles on it and going strong. I have owned everyother truck made and will continue to drive Toyota. I did have a Dodge Cummin's diesel and it was a great engine but the truck rattled loose around it. Hank

Eric, this is suppose to be a landing.... state landing in Door county infact.... the lake is just to low to not drive in to the lake

... at least park it stern-to, and back it in far enough to wash the dirt out of the wheel wells.

I can tell you guys with the trucks in the water don't live on the ocean. If any of you want to subject your trucks to salt water for those kinds of launches, I have a great eider spot I won't launch at.

Can you imagine? I knew those were fresh water launches and it still made me cringe thinking about what the frames would look like were it salt.

The salt does often keep the launch nice and tidy in anything but the worst temps.

Made me cringe too. I hate putting my galvanized trailer in salt, let alone the whole damn truck!

Heck- my toyota thinks it is supposed to bubble when i launch in salt---I bet 1/2 the time I put a boat in, it is well up the wheels. Given a choice between babying my truck and getting a good duck day in---well, I only have so many duck days and trucks are made each day.

Jeff- you may see this this weekend.
