WHY?????!!!!!

the best way to get them off is probably to try to preserve them

Thatwas my first thought. Just paint over them. Next seaon they will peel right off at the worst possible moment.

But honestly the ducks won't care is you take them off or paint over the decals.

O.K. Here is a serious answer. Cover the whole motor with duct tape and then paint. We used to do that with "demo" race bikes that belonged to the shop to preserve the resale value of the paint and decals. The tape comes off w/o hurting the decals. Dave , you can keep your very pretty motor cover.

John~

I like the way you used that old deer carcass to break up the outline of the foredeck.....good thinking!

More seriously - that's one gorgeous rig! Is it a Devlin Cackler or Snow Goose?

All the best,

SJS

Bob,
Why do you ask???? ;>) ;>)

That's a great picture of the buck and ducks John!!!

I too just cover my outboards. Can't bring myself to paint them.

There now that wasn't so bad was it? Looks good, how did you get the decals off? Is 2 gallons enough to cover the hood?

It wasn't solo bad... I used a heat gun and razor blade. I don't know why I was avoiding it. ... yea.... I think 2 gal will do the hood.... not sure how much I will need for the rest of the motor and the boat!!!!

That that looks great. My 1984 was so weather checked I ended up sanding about half the paint off after getting as much as I could with the heat gun and scraper.
