The Palm Bay Hood through a Block party in honor of Woodrow's arrival. All the boyz were happy to see Woodrow and gave him a warm welcome.

And with that and a little hangover we hit the marsh in the AM.

No Woodies showed up today, but the Woodrow Juju was workin over the Fulvous Whistlers and their bizarre behavior made for a one of a kind day. You see, the Fulvous is one of the most wary ducks I have ever hunted, often only making a shootable presentation on opening day, and from there on you will only see and hear them from great distance. But today we had hundreds of them buzz Woodrow and friends repeatedly and 1 quick shell a piece and our limits were filled. They did decide to finally depart about the same time I got out the camera. After that we shot a few Bluewing on what was the only cool day of the season so far.

Tim Shetterly from Marion Iowa is down for a few days of hunting. Tim and I have been friends since 1969.

Those florida hens can get to us all huh :-) Dang you got all the luck, you even banged ducks with BLT......HeHeHeHeHeHe. Hope to get Tizmo down to Mo as well next year. You guys have a blast for us. As for Todd and I, He's off to South Dakota in the a.m. to collar Mountain Lions and I'm off to sell some fur in the a.m., Thats if the friggin snow lets up(3.5" since 13:00 already).

Try to get Woodrow outta there without any gator bites.

Not suprised to see that Woodrow's "no Wooduck" juju is still strong. BWAAAAAAAA Maybe he is sending out telepathic signals to the wooducks. I would think that Yukon Mike will not be pleased to see that you have allowed one of his babies to pick up the smoking habit, shame on you, or was that [font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]Tim Shetterly's influence. (not that I know Tim, but I know the kind of friends he keeps) Did he tell you we got a nice amount of snow on the ground now? Another 4 to 6 inches is predicted for tonight again.

Guess I'll go to bed tonight dreaming of bagging a [/font][font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]Fulvous one day.

Amusing Hitch......nice block to have a block party on.....hmmmm boos, in more ways than one? So does Woodrow get wood alcohol or grain alcohol? Are you sure it wasn't a flock party????? Now I will have to include a DETOX body wrap for Woodrows Spa treatment. I look forward to his arrival....Dave I believe you have our address.....so once you are triumphant in breaking the juju and Woodrow is ready for a rest from all his travels you just send him on to the Goddess and she will take care of him......as she would any male with such plumage.
 
Hitch, I thought for sure the drinks would reduce his juju. I was wrong. Maybe were back to taping his eyes shut. Be a good idea when he goes in the spa any way. We don't want him to turn to sawdust or have a complete melt down.

It's nice Woodrow attracts alot of other ducks.
 
Heck wood duck or not Woodrow is having a better season than I am.

Looks like a Stag party though....where are alll of the ladies??
