Picked up this beautiful Sam Hunt Sneakbox it was owned originally owned by Newt Sterling of Port Republic. Sammy really built a hell of a big strong boat. Definitely a restoration candidate. 12ft long almost 5ft wide.

Capt Bob,

What is the pipe out of the rear of the box for?

Is the harpin rotted?

Looks like it was glassed at one point.

Rick
Rick, the Pipe is a gas hose someone drilled through the deck i guess so the line wasn’t on top. The harping isn’t 100 percent rotten just in a few spots. But able to be fixed. And yes the whole boat was glassed at one point.

Mine was similar condition when I started, though mine had not been glassed. Mine came with sail, but no rig or spars. Made them all. Look back in 2009/2010 for those build threads.
