Setting up keelson

Setting up keelson

The next step is to setup the keelson. I first milled a 2x6-16' to the necessary thickness and width. I used the 16' in case there were splits in the ends of the board. Using the jig for the ribs I used a bevel to set my table saw to the needed angle. After verifying the setup with a test piece I ripped the taper onto the plank.

After test fitting the plank was attached to the transom with glue and screws.
