    Autumn wings heads?

Good to know, I?m happy to hear that a drill press isn?t necessary, I didn?t want to go buy one

    Autumn wings heads?

Good to know about the sealing, I do have a few unpainted ones. I?ll be turning these into Scoter, Eider, and some giant Bufflehead, the bodies will be a mix of corkers and Herters 72 divers that I?ve picked up second hand. My paint jobs aren?t as nice as yours, but seem to get the job done

    Autumn wings heads?

I just got a bunch of their wooden replacement heads that I ordered. I?m curious to know how they hold up long term? Will the paint stay nice if I take adaquate care of the or should I coat them with something? I also need to drill holes in them to attach them, I?m guessing a drill press...

    Following advice, corker salvage/ repair

After using the cork dust and tightbond III bondo to fill some of the deeper voids I have let it sit for three days in a dry, warm place. Those areas are still somewhat soft, is this normal or did I do something wrong? Some of the areas are up to 3/4? deep

    Following advice, corker salvage/ repair

So, per my previous post I have gone through my old cork decoys that I bought last year and will attempt to fix them up. One has made the ultimate sacrifice and is becoming filler dust for the others. So far I?ve removed the heads of several, gotten the worst of the crumbling bits out, sealed...

    Tdb 17 questions

After talking with Tom and Elizabeth, it is a 14SC of unknown year. The HIN is DUCxxxxOC11, which should mean that the hull was made in Michigan in 2011. However, they are not aware that any boats were being made by the company in Michigan after the company left Maine. Long story short, I...

    Tdb 17 questions

I have a lead on what the seller says is a ?88 17SC. Did they make a 17SC that early, or does he maybe have the year wrong, or is it a classic? It?s definitely a Maine built boat HIN: DUCxxxxxxxxx. Will attach pictures, thanks in advance. Ken

    Sneak boat?

Bob, I just looked in the stern from inside. There is no hole or any other indication that there was a sculling oar. I believe it was always designed to be rowed.

    Sneak boat?

Steve, Thanks for your reply, I bought the boat off of a guy up towards the Catskills. He apparently used to live and hunt it on Long Island back in the 70?s or 80?s. It definitely hadn?t been restored when I got it, but it wasn?t terrible. All the wood seems to be in good shape and I got it...
