Steve, the majority of the time i hunt with an over/under, the weather will have to be really nasty before i will bring out the synthetic stocked autoloader.
Al, those are some beautiful pictures!! The pintail has been my dream duck, I have never be lucky enough to harvest one here in Virginia. That's what keeps this 55 year old man going, the thought that one day a pintail will set into my decoys. One can dream, can't one ? Tomorrow is another day...
I also have a black lab named Bella, That look your Bella is like looking into a mirror of my own. Watching the intensity of the dogs is 90% the other 10% is just being there with them and ejoying the hunt.
Looking for other duck hunters in Virginia who would like to get together and do some hunting. I hunt out of a BBSB in and around the Richmond area. I do occasionally go to the eastern shore. Give me a call (804) 731-6283 or email me @ my2labs50@yahoo.com
Hey guys looking for some info. I grew up hunting the Forsyth refuge in Barnegat, NJ. Is the boat ramp open off of Bay Ave in Barnegat. I wanted to bring a friend from Virginia to experience some NJ water fowling. How bad did the storm affect this area. Thanks for the help. Is anyone guiding in...
Depending on the area you hunt in should dictate what use . Here in Virginia the area I hunt in (cypress swamp) I just cover my sneak box with camo netting.
I grew up in Point Pleasant Beach, I cannot believe the devastation that has happen. I am truly saddened by the photo's of was my home town. I pray that everyone will come out of this disaster and be able to get on with their lives. My wife and I survived hurricane Andrew in Miami in 92' things...
Most of the area is a backwater sloughs off a lake, oak, cedar, cypress trees . Some native grasses but not much other than that. I could paint the fast grass dark brown withe some lighter highlights in it and weave some branches into it
Guys I need help. Hunting out of my sneakbox in Virginia with fast grass. Although I am concealed the fast grass sticks out like a sore thumb!!! It is not a natural look, other than camo netting, I am lost as to what to use for total concealment. I hunt public land so total concealment is...
Glad all are safe, I have two friends who still live in my hometown of Point Beach, both have said total devastation to the area, one said his stove was under water he lived about 3 blocks from the beach, the other had 3 feet of water in his home!
My wife and I rode out hurricane Andrew in Florida in 92. Storm made landfall 1 mile from our home 150 mph winds. Moved to VA only to have to deal with hurricanes again. Oh well we will hunker down with our 3 labs drink a bottle of red and say our prayers!!
Thanks guys, a Mossberg 20 pump it is. I do like the top tang safety, I think I will also start her off with 2 3/4" shells also. Looking forward to the upcoming Virginia season
My 15 year old daughter will be hunting with me this year. She is only 5'2". I was leaning towards a 20 gauge over and under for her first gun. Top tang safety seems a safer way to go. Any thoughts or help appreciated.
Howard, sorry for your loss. When you get things moving again give me a call @ 804-731-6283 . I would like to talk to you about your boats. Thanks, Tom
