    The quest continues

I agree 10000%. Odd number of decoys, always. I have a spread of 9 whistlers that go in the middle with 3 blacks, one green head on each end in a pod. I much prefer a singleton or pair of puddle ducks over the big wad.

    Decoys

Chris- I would be very interested in the blacks and mallards.

    Long Slow Day

Jeff- we had a similar experience on Saturday... Had whisters come on while we were setting up and then whiffed on one. Had a few buffies that we didn't shoot at and got snuck by one mallard. I expected a lot more out of the day...

Temperature Maps tells the Migration Story

We are seeing a few birds, but not many. It's 53 in Bangor, Maine on December 11.... silly. The bright side is the fishing is still really good.

Some pictures of a 1 degree morning on the Maine salt

Troy/Jeff- Only -10 in Winterport this morning. If I can get my boat dug out of the snow bank tonight ( before it snows again) and thawed out, I may give it one more try on Saturday. Still hoping to hunt the Cape in January though.

    OK, It's Winter

Very nice Jeff. We got to Stockton- waited 10 minutes for the engine to start peeing, climbed and headed across the harbor- about 200 yards from the ramp the motor quit, the first time. Pulled for a minute, got it going and it died again. Pulled for several minutes, nada... Paddled back to...

Nice Troy- we got a couple hundred yards from the ramp and the motor died and wouldn't start again. Got all sweaty pulling and paddling...

    Not the report I was looking for . . . .

Jeff- I saw good numbers in my "spot" yesterday. They just wouldn't come in.

    Where'd all the ducks go?

We hunted the flood yesterday afternoon. Kicked out a few on the way out to our spot. Had two blacks cruise by, missed some buffies and lost a mergie. Copared to last Saturday, it was slow. We're going exploring Wed. Jeff and should have an open seat if you're interested.

    Banded RedZone Waders

I fish in the Patagonias Jeff- I froze a big toe in 1988 in stocking foots and have to wear boot foots hunting now. I bought the Mack's a couple of years ago and they leaked early and often and didn't fit well. No more neoprenes for me- These banded waders look pretty good, but I'd some real...

    Banded RedZone Waders

Anybody use them- know anything about them? Looking at the insulated breathables- wondering about fit and durability ( I'm a stout fellow who is hard on his equipment).
