    Quick Question

Is that a double ender? Looks totally huntable.

    Quick Question

A real displacement hull will actually slow down when you get to bow/wave speed...then it takes over powering to get up and over that. You can feel it if you take it up gradually. At that point, the motor is trying to push the boat over it's own wake.

    Browning Citori Value

"Try patterning a 2 1/4 oz. load from the bench some time! I've done it exactly one time!" Did that with my Gold when I first got it.....not enough asprin in the bottle after that.

    Browning Citori Value

Depends, does it have removable chokes? How many does it come with if it does? From what I have noticed on Citori's, the 3 1/2 is usually less expensive than others. That price is so-so if it is in excellent shape but if they pounded a lot of 3 1/2" shells through it...check it out real well and...

    Boat accident lessons...

A couple kids were doing "power dives" off a boat at one of our lakes. That is where you get it going full speed, hit the key and jump out. It was a 16' with a newer 135 Merc and went pretty fast. The kid driving didn't quite hit the key when they bailed and the boat was unmanned doing about 40...

    Christmas List and other miscelaneous.....

We had a "Deadmans" hill at our local park. There were tree lined steps on each end of the hill. The hill went down about 30' at about a 60 degree angle to a shelf that was about 5' wide.....off that shelf you didn't touch ground until the bottom. I ended up several times 7-8' off the ground in...

Dead calm + Jerk string ... our answer to Mojos

I use a small collapsible fishing rod with a spinning reel loaded with 10# kevlar line. I use two muffin pan lead weights with eye bolts melted in them. One weight goes under the deke and the other goes next to the boat to keep the line underwater. I filled an old Herters plastoid with 2 part...

    Boat accident lessons...

I know a lot of boats are covered under the car policy while on the road and supposedly by home owners the rest of the time but from what I surmise is..it's for theft...not sure if it's for liability and not so sure it doesn't also have to be listed as a rider to your home owners..mine is. John...

Dead calm + Jerk string ... our answer to Mojos

Those idler valves will bring in the ducks...when they work right. Bob, you have that on a salt water rod so you can cast it out and retrieve when ducks are in the air?

    Good Sneak boat?

I've got a MLB Zack box and a Devlin BB2. I wouldn't want to be on big water in the Zack unless I was using it as a layout with a tender...oh, it will handle pucker factor water but I prefer my BB2 for that. I use the zack less now that the grandson is almost 5' tall and shooting but it was...

    Carolina Coast & Y-board rig

I'd put a little color on the sillies. As for the shot, we killed everything with 2's at Suttons a few years back but your host probably knows best for the way he hunts. You will probably set up 20-30 yards from the dekes and shoot crossing shots and incoming, longer shots. It is a real gas when...

    Bird cleaning made easy

Jay Anglin showed me a way to do pheasant that takes less time...and is free. Hold the bird by it's feet with the breasts facing away, step on both wings and pull. The only downsides are, if the bird was shot by a nimrod at 10 feet or you are too fat to bend over. A year before this, Brent Mason...

? re Ruger Red Label O/U

Quite poetic, if you bought a new Cadilac...and the wheel bearings went out in a thousand miles....would you take it to a shadetree mechanic, even if he was the best mechanic on earth...have him fix it and then reach in your pocket and pay him because it was a sweet car. Corporate responsibility...

? re Ruger Red Label O/U

I had one about 10 years ago. 5 of us went together and bought 5 of them. Two of them had doubling problems. I couldn't hit sh*t with mine so I sold it. Ruger, and I love Ruger....has had a lot of problems with their shotgun line. I am sure a gunsmith could fix it bit I bet Ruger won't pay for...

A story about Sutton and his Grandpa.......

A woman is in a grocery store and happens upon a grandpa and his poorly behaving 3 year-old grandson at every turn. It's obvious Gramps has his hands full with the kid screaming for candy in the candy aisle, cookies in the cookie aisle; same for fruit, cereal and soda. Meanwhile, Gramps is...
