    Raven and Crow Hunting????

Yep here in NY we can hunt them September 1st until March 31st. However it is only Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Mondays only. Not sure why but we can still shoot 'em.

Anyone tried Federal BlackCloud Ammo ?

I have but I've only shot 2 geese with it. I love how the new wad design works keeping with the shot longer. Much tighter patterns. Although that's bad for me cause it'll be even more impossible for me to shoot divers this year!

    08-09 Duck Stamp

Man that's beautiful. I wish I could draw/paint like that.

How's this for a close call?

Wow. That's bad. He sure was lucky!

    Buying Waders

I just bought a pair from Wing Supply 2 or 3 weeks ago. They were $100. They're Hodgeman 3.5 mm neoprene with 600 gram thinsulate in the boots. Have a hand warmer pocket and 2 "D" style loops on the suspenders. Here's a link to them. They're very comfy and easy to put on/take off. Waders

    WOW!! Cabelas

I have had great experiences with their customer service. They are very quick on returns or whatever and never seem mad. I sent back one of their meat grinders almost a year after purchasing it and they refunded my money, no questions asked. I'll always be a customer there!

    pvc boat blind

Wow! That is exactly what I'm doing. I used "U" bolts to attach an old section of bed frame across the beam on the front and back of mine (only a 12 footer) and each has a 2x3 inch tab type thing sticking up. I'm going to drill 2 holes in each of the tabs to bolt 3/4" pvc pipe to them that will...

NDR: Gearing up the deer season

Cabela's sells a 3D target foam filler. Not sure of the price or how it works though. I think you mix it up and pour it into the hole you want filled and it expands.

    Damn it's hot....

I guy I know from Georgia is in Baghdad (sp?) and he says everyday it is mid 130s and usually very humid. I couldn't imagine and like you said they have all the gear on.

    Black Cloud Ammo

I forgot where I read about one of the tests but at 40 yards it patterned at I think 92% out of a 3" 12 gauge in a 30" circle. Probably due to the flitecontrol wad. And part of that article explained what the inside of a duck looked like from the shot. You could see the normal round holes and...

    what's hanging on your lanyard?

I have an Echo Trash Talker double reed mallard call, a Foiles "Legend" single reed mallard call, a H.S. Hitman goose call, and a Flextone wood duck call. I can use the 3 duck calls decent but the geese probably won't be close to my spread this year!

Other peoples shot in my birds...

The buck I shot this past season had a nice "X" pass though hole through the backstraps, just under the spine. Had completely healed over on the hide other than the hair wasn't grown back and one side had a little ooze coming out. On the backstraps themselves it was a little grizzle. So it looks...

This is a a Duckboat site, Lets see 'em....

Here's mine. It looks a little red but isn't bad outta the sun. Starting to build my blind for it now (not on it though).

Thanks a lot guys. Looks like I HAVE to hunt more than a few times to test out all of these setups!

    mallard hen gunner

WOW! Very, very nice! That's a beautiful bird. Nice job!

    Field Goose setup

Ok here's my scenario. I am getting a dozen and a half (18) canada goose shells tomorrow and I already have 1 canada goose chair blind (giant decoy that flips up for shooting out of). I will be having one of my buddies with me most of the time. What would be the best setup for this? Maybe...

    Field & Stream

I've been getting it for about 3 years now and I have no complaints. Personally I find most of the articles interesting. However like you said, some of the info they write is basic. I do like all of the gear reviews and most of the editor's small articles on whatever they write. Back in the past...

Hey Fred S. - Merganser Mount

Well seeing I mount my animals by myself (it helps to have an uncle and grandpa who have been professional taxidermists for almost 25 years) I am going to mount all of my waterfowl (just the firsts of each species). Unfortunately before I thought of this I didn't mount my hen common merganser...

Hey Fred S. - Merganser Mount

Very nice looking mounts. That's the first drake merganser I've seen that isn't a hooded. What is the bird in the bottom picture? I've never seen one of those. (I've only duck hunted for one year so I know this is a stupid question.)
