    Whatcha Listening To?

I’ve been listening to a lot of Sturgill Simpson lately. This is one from an album he made shortly after his son was born. Each song on that album was meant to provide some information to his son on how to navigate life.

Bud Miles BBSB - Central WA

Hi All, I am breaking down and selling my Bud Miles BBSB, hull #75. I keep telling myself I will use it but my current obsession with upland hunting keeps getting in the way. There is a thread here (BBSB back on the water) from when I first got it restored and back on the water. It has only...

Does anybody remember the Rocky Point Resort Hunt

I figured starting a new adventure with such good memories couldn't be a better way to go..Hey all, Just wondering how many folks might still remember a duckboats.net hunt that happened at Rocky Point Resort in Oregon back in 2001? I hadn't really thought about that hunt for a very long time...

Brant rig, homage to Worth, BradF, Steve Sutton, Tod and other members here

Brant looks very focused on his job. Good to see such a nice bunch of decoys being deployed.

    Keeled a few

Hey Brad, the workbench was inherited from my father in law when he passed. At one time he was contemplating starting an antique shop and this was one of the pieces he acquired. If memory serves correctly he said it was a pre-1910 production. It?s a beast.

    Keeled a few

Derek Zumwalt sent me these birds several years back. They?ve been keeping me company in the shop patiently waiting to be keeled and put to use. Getting back out with the new pup inspired me to finally take action. Derek sent me some lead circles to screw to the bottom but I had to get fancy and...

    BBSB Back on the Water

Hey Dani, Griz has shown some inclinations to point, especially on quail, but I don?t know that it?s going to develop into the real thing. We went to South Dakota at the end of October and he got to learn about prairie chickens and sharptail hunting with Copper. Unfortunately Copper blew out...

    BBSB Back on the Water

Good morning Steve. I used 6 oz. cloth and System 3 products for the epoxy. The hull is a semi-displacement. I?m running an older 15 hp Mariner that I also had to refurbish. With me, the dog, 2 dozen cork decoys, 2 dozen plastics, long line weights, anchors, 3 gallons of fuel, etc...

    BBSB Back on the Water

Hi Brad. Thanks! Grizzly is the son of my 10 year old male Copper and a local friends titled female. I got to help deliver the pups and watch their personalities develop over those first seven weeks before taking my pick from the litter so I?m absolutely positive I picked the best...

    BBSB Back on the Water

Hi all, long time no post eh? I bought this Bud Miles boat through Steve Sutton about 12 years ago. I think it was brought to the west coast by Louie Patenkok. I hunted it for a couple years and tolerated the leaky polyester glass until I just couldn't take it anymore. I stripped all...

    What a transformation

That's good, I'm kinda anal about keeping my stuff looking in good shape. I usually just hosed it out with WD-40 and then wiped the externals with RIG.

No ducks but a couple bucks

Dang nice mulie there Fred. That is the one thing that still gets me cranked up to go after big game..the ever elusive 30" mule deer. Those old mulies live in some of the neatest toughest country around.

    Installing transducer on duckboat question

Hey Mark, An easy way to do it would be to make a 2 piece bracket that would go through the grab handle on the transom. Just attach the transducer to a stick, slide it up through the grab handle until it is at the appropriate height and then screw a U-shaped chunk of wood to the stick...
