do not use walnut for mulch unless you dont want anything to grow there. it has a compound which inhibits the growth of many, but not all, other plants. just fyi

While it doesnt help with your choice of finishes, Irish Spring soap, the original one, does deter mice. We have a seasonal use cabin and have always had a problem with mice in the closets over the winter. We now cut up bars of Irish Spring and put them in several places in every closet. not...

The whole boat moving is ok. I think that if you use a bungee cord on the motor it will still move. Strap would be better to me

A combination of both (TS and strap) would be my choice. Also, if your boat is bouncing it needs to be strapped down tighter in my opinion

Believe it or not, bur Irish Spring soap is a very good mouse deterrent. We have a summer cabin and the mice take it over in the winter. We take original Irish Spring, cut it into chunks and put it the areas the mice liked to use. Not 100% but about 95% effective in keeping them away.
