A Harker story, a little more bad news but something good too

Scott

Point well taken. I contacted my doctor today to set up a physical as a result of your post and urgings by my mom and Michelle. They were both cocerned about my PSA since my older brother (a urologist) has elevated levels and my father's prostate issues he's dealt with for years, dribble dribble.

Good vibes on the way.

Scott,

Good luck to you on Thursday! Prayers and positive thoughts coming your way! My Dad had his prostate removed about 4 yrs, healed up good & cancer free. Wife's Dad had his done this winter & doing good. Got 2 good friends, one 76 the other 80, that had prostate cancer & are doing good. The thing they've all got in common is they all were diagnosed early. Sounds like the Doc is a good one. You'll get through it fine, just keep a positive attitude!

Scott,i will talk to the big guy tonight about you, good luck and GOD BLESS. For what it is worth i have had fluctuating psa readings for 20+ years along with biopsies. The best thing i have found is beta sitosterol,it is natural, can be bought over the counter in a health food store,is cheap and works for me.It is definately worth a try if you are having symptoms by all means do the psa's.Bill.

Thinking of you, vibe,vibe,vibe,vibe,vibe,vibe,vibe,.........If you need some more just let me know..

It was very thoughtful of you to share the story of Harker. Oh yes those are meant to be good vibes....

Hey Scott:
Words at times like these are (for me) difficult to come up with. I can only try to let you know that I appreciate yours.
Your story of the "trade" indicates how we all share the good times and also the not so good. This particular problem has touched me personally because of my loss of a great guy and best hunting partner who ( if he had taken that particular test sooner - as opposed to putting it off for a long list of reasons ) would have had it beat.
Thanks for sharing, you and your family will have a "Special Thought" from us on Thursday.
Ron and Coco.

Scott, thanks for the tale, and everyone should get the postrate check every year starting before forty. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Good luck on Thursday,

Scott,
praying like a monk here for your speedy recovery.(At this point I might have to actually set foot in a church one of these days). I am sure that that syrup was the kicker in the trade. We will all be thinking of your family this week.
Bob Butler.

Scott,

Not to make you feel old...but you sound like my father...and both of you are giving the same good advise. He went through surgury about 7 years now, and has been clean since. My dad's urologist told him to tell me by age 40 to be tested regularly just like Joe said. When tested and caught early, there are options to deal with it. I've known others, who either didn't catch it early enough, or didn't like the choices, and paid the ultimate price. Fellas, the earlier you catch it, the better the choices.

BTW nice story about Lee, and I'll be thinking of you between now and Thursday.

Scott, prayers and thoughts sent your way. Be thinking of you and your family especially Thursday

Scott my prayers and thoughts are with you. Good luck on Thursday I am sure that everything will go as smooth as silk.

Good vibes being sent, hang in there.

I hate going to my doctor, but your suggestions are being taken seriously.

The DaVinci robot is the way to go for prostatectomy. Faster healing and better nerve sparing. How's that for a good vibe? Oh, my psa s ok.

Prayers up.

I'll chime in with my flight Doc's opinion on blood testing. I listen when he speaks. He has been doing flight physicals since the 60's when he was assigned to Special Ops in the AF. He did and still does physicals for some of the original astronauts.

His advice: If you're a male, age 40 or over, it's imperative you get a full blood panel done EVERY YEAR. That advice saved the lives of three of "his pilots" this past year alone.
Get the blood work done. It's a lot less painfull and cheaper than dying.
