Got a pile of blanks going to add to my foam diver armada, not anywhere near the caliber of work of you guys on here but they get the job done.

These are my first diver foamers, restle coated with homemade heads. The Herter's heads I got for free will be a nice addition until I get better at carving heads!

Also a friend gave me a bag of random old plastics that I've been repainting as bluebills, plus so far this year I've found, patched and repainted 3 decoys in the marsh that have become bluebills too.

Finally finished up my gas-fired smoker as well, so far I've smoked some bacon and loins from this year's pigs and I'm getting ready to do a bunch of duck breasts. Nothing better than apple-smoked duck breast!

Dang, 6 days in and I'm already in awe of all the great work shown this month.

I hadn't painted a fish for a while so last night I started on a small gesso board and finished it this evening. It's a 5x7 Orange Spotted Sunfish in acrylic. Use to catch a lot of these little jewels while seining for minnows many moons ago.

Tim that is a beauty. Might have to get with you about a crappie closer to fathers day. It would add to the wall where the old man has the bluegill you did

a project I started last weekend in the blind. bled like crazy working on these little dudes. Middle daughter who appreciates hand crafted items again asked for a decoy a week away from her birthday. She wanted a goose decoy, instead she will have to suffer with these. Main reason was Momma said "NO", and I did not really carve a goose "decoy". Made it easy to remove from base to replace or repair which will be needed at her age (7). Maybe one day she will still have it around when I am long gone and it will make her think of a happy time we shared. Will let them sit then glaze, wrap it up in a crazy package and give it to her at her party on Saturday.

Tom I'm sure your daughter will love that gift. If she doesn't my birthday is saturday. :)

Wow Bob! That woodie is going to be awesome. The grayling gives me an idea, I even think I have one sketched up.

Thanks Tod. That wasn't sarcastic was it. :)

This is the same hen pintail as before but redone with a better feather layout. Well, that's my opinion at least. This girl started in November and has taken me into December so I'm getting some mileage out of her before I start making some cedar chips. Maybe if I paint a few 1000 more I'll understand feathers, hahaha! I still have to detail the head but I think I'm done messing around with the body.
