February Workbench Thread

Brad, I wondered what you were up to.... I guess that you'll have to rent morage for the new tender at the boat basin becuse I don't think anything bigger than you have will make it up the road to the"farm house".

I took the advice and added a tail board. I need to be more careful next time i glue one in; i didn't get it quite centered.

Mark, next one you do using bsc, i suggest a bottom board, more to protect the cork than anything else--Tail inserts on the cork is always a good idea, unless you go tailless and add 4 or 5 12 D nails for support. Nice, chunky body.

Nice birds - they deserve nice eyes. I buy all my eyes from Van Dyke's Taxidermy Supply.

My preference for this species is the Pin Point Pupil (T1PP). Their 10 mm Yellow eyes are about $1.70 a pair. They are flat-backed eyes with no wires. And, for small items like eyes. their shipping is reasonable.

I look forward to the finished products!

All the best,

SJS

Congrats Brad, know you spent alot of studying. Did mine years ago and enjoyed it. Should get your Towing endorsement, in case you tow in a few duck boats. Great job...

Thanks guys! Feels nice to know you liked the Blair-teal. I´m soooo lonely with this wonderful hobby around here.

I have alot more comeing! More pictures comeing in the near future.

Great looking golden eye! I love the shape and paint on that bird.

Thanks, Mike~

I've always admired your LZ birds - I esp. like those highhead Broadbill!

That Whistler/Goldeneye was a "breakthrough bird" for me about 30 years ago. I found the style elements I wanted after much searching. I use a drawing of it for my business card logo.

All the best,

SJS
