WOOOW Dave, am I ever glad to hear you are OK. Take it easy for a bit and heal up what ever needs to. We are just passing through but lets make it last as long as we can.

Dave
It's all been said but I'll add to all the good wishes and hope there are no lasting affects.

Everyone,

Thanks for the well wishes, prayers and good thoughts. I go for a followup at the doctors office today. Actually I felt better yesterday but now that the shock is wearing off, my ankle hurts and a few ribs are really sore.

Speaking of "ribbing",,,,,,,,,,, you wise guys think you're pretty funny don't ya! well I got a news flash for all of you,,,,,,,,,,, Don't quit your day job!!

I most defiantly will be moving around a little slower for a couple days. The one thing I have learned over the years is,,, I don't bounce as well as I used to in my younger days.

Sorry to hear about your accident Dave. Hope everything turns out well at the doctors today.

I can't believe you lost 30 hours of memory. That must be tough. Especially after that long phone conversation we had Saturday when you told me how you had decided to simply your life and get rid of all your material possessions and begged me to find a good home for your boat and motorcycle and guns and all that stuff that was cluttering up your life and impeding your spiritual progress.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I was able to arrange some storage space, so whenever you're ready to ship all that stuff up here, just let me know.

Your true friend,
Rick

Wow! Glad you're OK! I am glad you walked in the house where your wife could help you. Missing 30 hours sounds like a great opportunity to make up a really good story :) Something about decoys that came to life, or aliens...

Heck Dave, when I was in the Marines, I usta lose acouple of days all the time. Course, Red Mountain Wine @ $1.25 a gallon (really good stuff, eh?) had alot to do with that. One of the reasons I don't drink anymore. Glad to hear you are ok. I used to coach kids hockey and saw a good friend fall and hit his head hard. He had to have brain surgery and has never been the same and he didn't fall no where near as far as you did.

Wow...take care of yourself and don't hesitate to go to the hospital if you don't feel right. Thank GOD you are okay. It reminds me a bit of when I got shocked this summer sorta....any conduits or lectric type stuffs up in the rafters? Could've jolted you from the ladder?

When I was hit by a car and landed 100 feet down the street I lost an hour or so. After that, every once in a while little bits and pieces came back. I wonder if you'll remember anything eventually.

Be careful!!

So, any time you're in the shop from now on you need to be wearing a helmet.

Take care Dave.

Glad you are OK.. Only takes a second. Thank god wives seem to have more common sense than us when it comes to seeking medical attention.

Darn, Dave! Let's be careful out there. Good to hear that you're feeling passibly o.k. Good thing your wife was home.

Heck, I come in missing my glasses and covered in sawdust all the time - but I usually get a comment like: "Just how many hours are you going to spend down in that shop; I have things that need done."

Dave,
Ladders are a part of my life at work and I am always thinking of how the perch that seems so solid can in an instant be gone.
Very glad you made a graceful landing and did not do yourself the hard way. Six feet down is a long way when the drop zone is concrete.
On a positive note I could see this being an opportunity for a little selective memory loss when needed.

Glad to hear you're o.k. Dave. When I hear that sort of story the first thing that comes to my mind is an unwitnessed seizure.

Ed.

Glad to hear you survived. There's several grades of ladders, get a 1 or 1B. There expensive as hell, but well worth it, especially if you're a fat ass like me. Besides, whatever a ladder is rated for, you're always carrying something that adds additional weight. I also recommend wood or fiberglass, the fiberglass being the best. Aluminum ladders give you no clue it's gonna give way, wood or glass at least start making noise, so you have a chance to take some action.
In 20 years of construction, I've probably racked up several of those while on a ladder. If they made me use a worn out one, I'd make sure it went through some "accident" so it would get replaced. Most companies would replace it if I asked though.

If you want you can borrow my cousin's leather helmut with drool catcher?

Glad you are still upright. I have lost chunks of time as well, but all self inflicted. At the time I was SURE I was being abducted by aliens. Does your butt hurt?

Mike

Geez Dave,
That's a real scary event, are you sure aliens weren't involved? ;0)

Just kidding, I'm glad to hear you are ok. Falling from a ladder doesn't sound like fun. Keep your feet on the ground.

-Jack
