Jim Bosanny

We lost a member last night. RIP Jim.

Jim had been fighting a battle with cancer for the last 4 or 5 months. He courageously made the choice at the beginning of September to stop treatment as it was very hard on him, and his cancer had gotten in other organs.

I knew his father (WizBos) through DuckBoats before I met Jim. I hunted with WizBos in 2015 at the Duckboats get together. Wisbos died in an ATV accident the following spring. I met Jim that year when Jim was giving me some items of his father's. We have hunted together every year since. Jim was a great person. Jim would call me when I was out hunting, to see how it was going.... then when I was driving home to get the details, then on Monday to get more detail of weekends hunts. We went camping with our wives. Jim even got a Chessie after hunting with Kodi and Otter! We thought we had many more years of hunting experiences ahead of us.

Laughing at me when Otter pushed me in the river last year... or Jim spilling soup in the boat...

Jim will be missed by many, I am sure.... but he will; most certainly, be missed by me.... He was 71

Damn, that sucks..... I first met Both Jim and his Dad, when Wisboz flew into DC on his Honor Flight. Rufus Brinn and I met him at the terminal with a sign for Duckboats.net and a photo of him as a serviceman. Wisboz and I traded emails several times, and I have his father's Jones hat and shell vest to go along with my BBSB. Some years later, Jim and his wife flew to DC and we meet for a meal, and then just last Christmas, I sent him some Bluebill decoys I had made. Good guy, gone too soon.... Cancer Sucks!

Jim talked about those times meeting you....often when hunting.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of a member and your friend and hunting partner. Jim participated here for many years. Never super active but you could tell duck hunting was a part of his life for many years. You could also tell he was a quality person and someone you'd want as a friend and neighbor. 71 is too young. My prayers are with his family.

Jim and I first met after his Dad died. Only hunted together a couple of times with Phil. Had been planning on a river float for smallmouth on the fly but due to schedules and high water never got it done. He was a good man - RIP.
