Lee Harker's Passing

This is without a doubt the last thing I ever wanted to post. I am still in shock, so please bear with me.

I received a call about an hour ago from Lee Harker's brother Mark telling me that Lee had passed this morning. I don't have a lot of details, but what I was told is that Lee had been feeling better and that his passing was "sudden".

I am still full of shock and disbelief.

I will write more later, but I have to collect my thoughts a bit. I will post visitation and funeral dates and times etc as soon as I get them.

You all know how much Lee loved this site, and I can assure you that Lee thought the world of the guys here. Please keep Cheryl, Blake, and the rest of his family in your prayers tonight.

God Bless,

Paul

I was afraid things were worse than he had let on....

Like everyone I'm at a loss as to what to say....or do....

Without doubt the site has lost one of its most valued, and long term, members....a man who was always willing to offer a joke, a jibe, or help, whichever was called for....

I'll always count the fact that I got to hunt with Lee, and that I consider him a friend, as one of the best things I've gotten from this site....

Paul, please keep us posted on the details as you get them...

Fair Winds Lee.....Fair Winds...

We're going to miss him for sure. Shiny side up. I never had the oportunity to meet Lee in person but like so many others here I felt like one of his friends. We saw eye to eye on so many things I once told him that we would have to sit around a fire and trade lies. That will have to wait now. I envied his relationship with his grandson, we don't all get that kind of love. The pothead artwork wiill always be a classic here also.
Godspeed friend and scout some ducks for the rest of us coming along. Look up Maxwell when you get there and you will have a good guide.

Thanks for passing that news on.

What an incredible loss, the amount of help and laughs he offered up over the years is just staggering.

I never got to meet Lee in person but always read his posts. A true water fowler. He will definately be missed. Prayers sent for him and his family.

I feel a terrible loss with this news of Lee's passing. Lee was absolutely one of the best guys I met through this site. I never met him face to face but exchanged countless emails and spoke I don't know how many times on the phone. He was one of the biggest supporters of this site, a volunteer, and good friend to many. If you look at the post counts Lee had mote than anyone else. Not because he liked to hear himself talk, but because he genuinely liked helping others and was always good for comedic relief. Lee never took himself too seriously and throughout all the many arguments here I never once remember him getting personal with anyone or taking offense. He rolled with the punches, stated his opinion, and liked you whether or not you agreed with him. Lee's friendship had no strings attached and he'd lend a hand however he could. His wit was second to none and cracked me up all the time. We just lost one of the pillars of this site. I am so sad he has passed away and will miss him forever. God bless Lee and his family.

Paul, I am so sorry to hear...........Lee was one of the nicest guys I ever came across. Salt of the earth and always had a way to make you laugh. There will be a void here that no one can fill. My condolences to his family............

The blessing is the Lord took him fairly quick. I'll certainly keep his family in prayer and cherish the hunts we had together.

Terrible news, I feel bad for his family and will keep tem in my thoughts. I don't post much on here but read it several times daily..Lee was a very big part of this site whether helping out with suggestions, knowledge, or some much needed humor...I come here to learn more about this sport of ours and learned a lot through Lee...he will be missed greatly...Dave Hughes

Please post it here.....I can think pf no finer tribute to Lee than the thoughts of him many friends.....once this thread has concluded Eric will transfer it to the TRIBUTE SITE as a final compilation of our "farewells" to Lee.....and if the content is there perhap we can do a photo book for his Grandson so that he'll always know how important his Grandfather was to his friends....

Paul - This is sad news. I will pray for Lee's family.

I pray that Lee is in glory with the Lord, no suffering, no pain... Knowing that rascal, he is dancing on the Streets of Gold and the Lord is now wondering what the heck He got himself into...

Godspeed Lee Harker, Godspeed... Pat

I got to know Lee thru his humor, good sense, and sage advice on this forum. Never had the chance to meet him but it was evident he was a class act and he will leave a very large hole on this forum.

I'd add if anyone has any of his "pot heads" saved, I'd like to see them again.

I'm at a loss for words. I'll continue to pray for Lee's family during these times. I'm sure he's in Heaven telling anyone who will listen a couple good stories.

Can't believe it. Lee was always the first to help out a new boat builder looking for advice.

The ammunition companies will miss him too. He was due to buy another box of shells in about 15 years.
