March "What's on your Workbench?"

Nice minis Jode. I really enjoyed seeing some of them at Westlake.

Pat,
Nice birds as always. I love all of them but the one in the last photo really stands out to me. Do you have any of your great grandpas decoys carved from that pattern. I would love to see them if you do.

I nearly missed getting a fish in this month. :)

This is a 5x7 portrait of the endangered Topeka Shiner for my brother.

Well, l I got the heads screwed, pinned, glued, bondo'd and sanded on all brant, blks and Gaddy's. Looks like the next step Sanding rest of body and Sponging texture will make next months thread. Thinking of putting glass Eyes in them. Anyone off hand(LOU?) know what size E.Allen Brant take and affordable source ?

Gene, as an alternate to glass eyes - fake it. Simply paint the existing eyes brown, blk pupil, then a dab of white on the edge of the pupil. Once dry, coat a couple of times with gloss varnish or "hard as nails" fingernail polish. Really lights the eyes up. With the brown eyes you may not even need to paint in a pupil cause no one (brant) is going see the difference and tell about it anyway :^)

Scott, tell ya the truth I like your Idea much more than setting glasse eyes. Going to try a test bird and decide.
Thanks for the tip!

Wow Tom! That Cormorant is awesome. I bet they would decoy to it... not sure if that is a good thing or not. :-)

I can't wait to see what John and everyone else have in store for April.

This is by far my favorite thread!

Keep the pics coming,
