The "spring" around here has been delayed by the weather patterns. More snow and rain than nice sunny spring weather. Therefore I've been busy casting a few new fishing lures. I like to powder coat them when I can, makes for a very durable paint job. Not sure why the one photo is sideways. Also the colors on some are not showing well. The two "darker" colors are a metallic copper and a rich metallic blue. These should work well in clear waters.

Tod,

Can't explain it but just did not have a great urge to chase them this spring. I heard several of them gobbling from the tees early mornings when I was on the river fishing. Even beached the boat, checked and area out and decided on an ambush spot. Never even had the gumption to go buy a tag,,,,,,,,,,,, maybe next year? I dunno, go figure.

Probably just getting old... gray hair, slow to get moving in the morning, crankiness, are all signs. he hah aha ha aha aha

Turkey hunting can be so painful that your heart has to be in it for sure. They will be there if you get the hankering again!

I love it some of the time, but I always use it as a way to force myself to get out every nice day to enjoy the spring.

Well, I suppose if you were to send a couple of those out this way, I probably could give them a tryout to see how they work on the fish around here...

Nice ?eyes!
We used to kill walleye and lake trout on a wobble jig like you made! Bought them from an old codger that owned a little bait shop in Canada. I haven?t been able to find them anywhere else. Nice job.
 
Been commissioned to finish some unpainted Duncan Ducharme decoys. Included in the rig are some rare species to include a pintail, gadwall and a wood duck. Also, a mallard and some blue wing teal. These decoys each will have a keel installed then sealed and painted. These decoys will ultimately be hunted this fall. I am honored to do this and trust Mr. Ducharme would be proud...

Good morning, All~


Great work all around!


I've been mowing, splitting, stacking, tilling, planting - and watching Spring come alive and occasionally chasing turkeys and other month-appropriate tasks....


And - since Susan and I are headed to Berlin this week to visit my daughter's family - my bench has been busy with a few toys for my grandson. His father tells me he is crazy about all animals and trains.....

Jacob is just a year-and-a-half - so I softened all the edges on the birds for safety's sake.


In order, they are: Rotkelchen (European Robin for which the term "Robin Red-breast was coined), Amsel (Blackird as in "four and twenty" as well as the Beatles tune) and Nebelkrahe (Hooded Crow - which the Germans call "mist crow"). I made birds that he was likely to see close up in the wilds of Berlin.



BTW: Steam locomotive = dampflokomotiv
