RE: Obama's lawsuit

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the validity of Burg's lawsuit claiming Obama was born overseas. I am not trying to start a rumor, but I don't have much faith in politics. It scares me that in his (Obama's) state, that you can't buy shotshells if you are not an Illinois resident. That was the way I remember back when I worked there after 9-11. I was basically tired of all the media, and I stayed away from most of the news. I was informed of the lawsuit by a co-worker who has been stocking up on ammo since there is bound to be a slew of gun related restrictions. This will be a wonderful recipe for disaster if our deflation gets extreme and theft becomes rampant. If he wasn't a natural born citizen , then the election would be invalid. I'm not grasping at straws, but there is a part of me that feels that were it true, then the story would be covered up with our liberal media.

First thing I noticed was a Rem Mod 66 in the centerfire rifle list then my eye was drawn to the additions at the bottom. Better look at this!!!!! Typical add on. Heaven help us now!

It appears to me that Appendix A are exempt from the ban, not included. At least that is how I read it.

None the less, this is scary. With anti's holding all three ..... house, senate and white house we are in for some expensive times.

John, just to let you know, you can purchase ammunition in Illinois. The restriction here is if your a resident then you must have a FOID (Firearm Owners Identification) card to purchase a weapon or ammunition. This does not apply to non residents. If you were someplace that would not sell to you then they were mistaken.

I am totally amazed at how so many people at this site and other hunting related web sites supported Obama. Granted, Bush has eliminated any belief I had in the Republican party which is why I have re-registered as an Independent, but to vote for a man who has Socialistic views, a willingness to do away with part of the Constitution and consorted with known terrorits is IMO, beyond ignorance. I had to laugh while reading this mornings Detroit Free
Press whos over riding theme was how this election went beyond race. Really?? How many black people do you suppose voted for McCain? To those of you who voted for Obama, congratulations. You got what you wished for. But isn't there an old proverb that goes something like "Be careful what you wish for as you just may get it"? I believe that we shall soon see his true stand on gun control and in regards to his "redistribution of wealth" statements, I refer you to what one of our Founding Fathers had to say about that subject. Please read the 1st quote by Thomas Jefferson in my signature below.

Pete, I am neither a lawyer nor did I stay at a Holiday inn. I can't see where it exempts that list, how did you read that. It just reenforces my low opinion of lawyers and politicians. They hide behind the language.

Is that list true? It seems so absurd that it has to be some kind of propaganda or hoax.... at least I HOPE so!!

Is there any way to look up this bill in the actual House records, instead of some guy's website?

If it is an actual bill, and the Wichester Model 12, Remington 7600, Remington Model 70 is actually on it, then my NRA Membership will be upgraded to Life Member by the end of the day!

this is what I picked out:
‘(v)(1) It shall be unlawful for a person to manufacture, transfer, or possess a semiautomatic assault weapon. ‘(2) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to the possession or transfer of any semiautomatic assault weapon otherwise lawfully possessed under Federal law on the date of the enactment of this subsection. ‘(3) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to--
  • ‘(A) any of the firearms, or replicas or duplicates of the firearms, specified in appendix A to this section, as such firearms were manufactured on October 1, 1993; I may be all wet on my reading, wouldn't be the first time. In any case this bill does not bode well for the rest of our 2nd amendment rights. Just the fact that it is being proposed and "they" think that it will pass is bad news.

The saving grace is the mid term elections in two years.....unless they pass a King for Life bill. I hope that they don't totally screw up in the next 24 months. I am an optimistic pessimist.

That, sir, is a nail hit squarly on the head. It saddens me to know that so many so-called sportsmen, hunters, etc have supported this man and the line of bull shit hes spewed for the past 22 months (and before)

Kinda makes me feel that nice guys finish last. McCain's committee blew this big time.Issues matter not I guess.

The reason that some "sportsmen" probably voted for Obama is that they are not single issue voters. Such as you want to take my guns so I am not voting for you. But, on the other hand, Obama may be doing more for the type of job they have or their current economic situation ect.ect. So they are deciding that I can live with some more gun restrictions because Obama is going to help me in this way or that way. Doesn't necessarily make them wrong, they are making the choice what is best FOR THEM. What's best for them is necessarily best for me. Obama wants to tax my business more and tax my income more. These other people may work for some company and because of Obama's "plan" they will get better health benefits. So to them, they may have a loved one with serious health issues and better benefits means more to them than the ability to own an AR-15 or MAC-90. Doesn't make them wrong. They are voting on what is right for them and what's right for them and their family conditions may not always right for you or me.

If Obama is going through with his share the wealth plan, I will mail him my diploma, tell him to take over my $100,000 in student loans (8 plus years of school) and I am going on welfare because there is no point in me working any harder for you to take more of my money.

Shit hit the fan,
Mike

Socialism, however you disguise it, slice it, describe it, hide it is ALWAYS wrong.

Democratic Liberals are now the solid majority. We can expect that many liberal and socialist agendas will be met. Anyone with the slightest of a conservative bone in thier body must be upset. If you read the papers you will see that the world is extatic over Obama's win. That's because the rest of the world does not share our (some of us anyway) ideals. Many counties around the world share socialist views about life and government. Good for them. I for one do not....................I'm upset!!!....................Kevin

I just love reading that the Dems are trying to decide whether to "punish" Lieberman. It sounds like they are drunk with power already.

Shit hit the fan,
Mike I understand that there are many more issues here than gun ownership and those issues dictated how people voted. My points were that (1) if people can be so willing to give up the 2nd amendment (sportsmen in particular) because the government says to, what other rights will they be willing to give up and (2) even though there are all those other issues, does anyone honestly believe that a good majority of young black 1st time voters and those who are older and also were 1st time voters did so out of political persuasions and not the color of one mans skin? As much as many political pundits will hate and probably never admit, race played a huge part in this election. The saving grace behind this election may be that other countrys who despise/hate us so, will see us in a different light. If that helps to insure a more positive future for my and your grandchildren, then it will be worth it. But his socialistic views scare me in regards to this countrys future. His comment that those of us who resist more taxes are selfish was only another example of his thinking. I resist more taxes for the simple reason I can't afford anymore. I sympathize with you on his redistribution plan as my youngest son who is in his 2nd year of a Major in Micro Biology program has stated the same thing. My oldest sons FIL owns a small business with 15 employees and he has told me he will, in all likelyhood, have to close it down as Obamas tax plan would make it impossible for him to make his payroll.

I know that I will probably get a lot of slack for the post but it is true to a sense. I don't like socialism anyore than anyone else on this site.
Is socialism bad for
Me and You
Some of the people
All of the people.

Well it's bad for me and you and probably some of the people but it obviously isn't bad for everyone (like scum) Yeah there were a lot of voters that didn't care who they were voting for as long as it wasn't McCain(Bush). Alot of Blacks voted for Obama naturally b/c of color. Howard Stern has a guy in Harlem asking who they were voting for ....naturally Obama. They asked them if Obama wins are they happy that he chose Sarah Palin as a running mate. All said yes, Obama made the right choice with her. Clueless....
I really felt like McCain would have sat down with everyone and said "what do you think were should do....What do you think were should do". I think that Obama is going to be like....Now listen...This Is What I Am Going To Do. I originally liked McCain in 2000 after hearing him talk on the radio. Then he later started talking about gun ownership in a not-so-favorable way to me among other things and that turned me off. That is why I started pulling for Bush.

More Crapola on the Fan,
Mike
