25 degrees on our covered back porch this morning. Sheltered parts of the lower Mobile River Delta/Bay had a skim of ice on them.
Probably not unusual for your guys up north, but for the Gulf Coast, this is really cold, really early in the winter!
Worst part is that the constant north wind has the water blown out, most of my hunting spots are high & dry right now.

So how cold was it at your place?

27 degrees in Lakeland, Florida. Now that's cold here! But it's minus 3 where my kids live.....burrrr!

Keep warm

19 degrees in Northern VA when I left the house.... we were breaking ice on Saturday, worried this will push birds out and we are in the middle of our season! Dave

I walked outside to look at our thermometer and it read 34F. That is pretty normal for this time of the year. By this afternoon it will climb back into the 60's.

Carl,
22 degrees F here in Manhatttan, Ks at 0630 this morning. Much better then what
we had this weekend. All of our marshes are pretty well frozen over. It will be river
hunting for the forseeable future.
Best,
William

I just looked and it's 8 degrees out there.
Went hunting in this stuff yesterday and thankfully the wind was gusting to 35mph.
Hard hunting, the slush kept trying to take the decoys away. If the wind stops we'll be done.

Thats long sleeve t-shirt weather. It was -4 on the turck thermometer on the way to work. There was a good wind blowing too. The 10" of snow we got Saturday night is still ice packed on the hwys, I had to use 4-wheel pretty much the whole way.

It was a balmy - 23 f this morning. The ducks will heading South as fast as their wings will carry them. When ever you walk on snow and it creaks. you know its cold. Only a few Norwegians and Swedes walk out in their shirt sleeves in weather like this. Our dog didn't waste any time doing his duty this morning.

On a more serious note. When you drive in a vehicle you have to be prepared. If a vehicle stalls it's a emergency. A cold weather kit extra insulated clothes, sorrel boots, goose down coat and hood, gloves, cell phone.. These are the min. These are good if you stay in the vehicle. A good rule don't leave you vehicle. We lost a young man who had a wife and two children at home because he left his vehicle in our last blizzard.

15* when i drove past the church on the way to the blind and 23* when i made way back home. Everything we have is froze up solid except for a spring fed lake we have. And guess where all the birds were this morning. I didn't have to stay out long this morning but my camera froze up so maybe better luck tomorrow on some pictures. Funny thing is by thursday its suppose to be 65. Was 14* with 20 mph North wind yesterday morning and that must have moved more birds down because I saw more large groups this morning then I have all year.

It warmed up to 10 this morning and is snowing a little.

Yesterday it was 0 when I climbed out of bed.

Of course this is only a few degrees below normal for us.

I don't envy you folks back east or in the mid west; however it should push some birds around.

Mid-50's here in Colorado....Our part of the state, at least. At least we know that whatever birds do arrive from the north will find our climes very much to their liking.

It's down right warm here today. Already up to 18. If the sun would stay out a while we could get this snow packed down a little.
