Time to stand up and thank our moderators...

for the work they have been doing. Everyone should be aware that there have been some major personality issues on the forum lately and the moderators bear the brunt of the not so pleasant work keeping the forum going.

I know a lot of people have been sending PMs to Eric and Chuck saying thanks, but an open thread with THANKS! would be all the better to be counted in support. No reason to pile on and bash those involved - we don't need to go there.

I'll take on this challenge.

I come here multiple times everyday and have been doing so for as long as Eric has had the site up and running. I've met people here, travelled with folks and spent weekends camping with many. It is a great group of guys and a testament to the way this site is managed. I've also had some major disagreements with a couple on this site as my views on some topics are different than others. Gotten into some pretty heated arguements on line. Got to the point once where I emailed Eric privately and told him that if I was causing problems with these views on this site, I'd quietly leave. The reply back was both honest and eye opening. I then got a pm from the person I was having most of the disagreements with. Also very eye opening and caused me to look inward. My posting on here since has been toned down. I would hope others could do the same and if you really have issues, take it offline or ignore the post.

Good folks are on this site and good folks run and moderate this site. From Eric owning it and hosting it to Chuck moderating the forum and hosting the Travelling decoy (which I truly enjoy being a part of), this site is a nice break from the day to day stuff. I do appreciate this place Eric and Chuck and Thank you for all you do to keep this place the way it is. It is the ONLY duck hunting related site I visit. My day would not be the same without Duckboats.net.

This site completely changed the way I hunt. Something like 13 years ago? I knew I wanted to build a boat to get access to places that I simply couldn't walk to, and looking through his Scaup build and then the KARA plans sealed that fate. By 2002, I owned 7 boats for a short period of time. I can't thank Eric and Chuck enough for what they have done with this site. The quality of the people here is unrivaled. It gets testy around here at times, but that's the nature of the beast and has nothing to do with either of them. Keep up the outstanding work guys, it is appreciated!!!

It was Murphys home too

Yes, thank-you. The forum would not be the great place it is without the moderators keeping things in check. Thanks for all you do!

I have been around since 1998, and have had the privilege of meeting, hunting, carving, and befriending MANY MANY people through this site. I have spent time with Eric in his home and met his wife and family. I consider him a good friend.

This site is his creation at his expense and time and has been that way for greater than 10 years. He takes it very serious.

For those who don't like the way it is moderated, then with just a magical click of a mouse you can find a myriad of sites to join. Technology is GRAND!

Very best,
Steve McCullough

Count me in ...........great use of humor to help us remember not to take ourselves so seriously - well done and thanks !

I am making my modest annual contribution and would urge others to do so.

It sure has changed a lot since 1998 but then again so has everything else. I have 5 kids now. Lived in three towns, had a few different jobs. Many of us used to post several...maybe dozens of comments a day here. That has changed for sure and it's probably a good thing thought some of those big discussions and debates were epic. Sure "wasted" a lot of time on them though!

Thanks for keeping it around guys.

I've been on this site since around 1998, before Eric even had his first Devlin duck boat boat project finished (How many of y'all even knew that is what started this site to beging with? Go to the main page and read up on his original Devlin build.).
Eric has put up with a lot of crap over the years, put up a lot of his time, money & resources to keep this place going.
We've had a lot of members come & go over these years, some are still here, a couple of have even passed away. Lots of good times, good hearted pokes and jabs and even some real knock down drag out fights. But through all the good and bad (mostly good), Eric has always kept the site going.
And recently Steve (who quit and I really wish would come back) and Chuck have done a great job as moderators to help Eric out. I feel they have been very response and have been able to balance allowing people to speak their minds while keeping things in order.
You may not always agree with how Eric and the moderators who help him out run the site, but just remember how much this site has helped so many of you enjoy the sport we all love. I know the people on this site and the wealth of knowledge here has made me a much better duck hunter and maybe even a better person.
So a BIG THANKS to Eric, Chuck and eveyone who makes a meaningful contribution to this site.

Damn Jay, I never did the math - 5 wow.

Let me add my thanks to Eric and Chuck. The restraint shown by them is remarkable. Many other forums I frequent would have shut the discussion down long ago.

I'd also like to thank them for this site in general. I've made many friends thanks to this forum. Good people all, who I would never have met otherwise.

And thanks to Tod for starting this thread. It was needed.

Thanks for this site and the work you do keeping it going in the right direction which is towards duck boats, duck hunting and all the other related stuff that goes along with this great hobby. Sure we all have differences of opinions on these things but that's what makes this site interesting. There's more than one way to skin a cat, uh I mean duck, I'd never skin a cat. HA.

Am afraid not really sure what the agro is about but think it's best that way. If I won't agro I go to work. I enjoy this forum. Very much so. Have been in contact with some really nice chaPs may it live long and prosper as spock in startrek said. Any one that keeps this forum has a thankyou form me. So thankyou hope you can all work out your differences after all it is the season and santas watching.

Regards Paul Scott

Thanks Eric and Chuck. It's not a fun task, I know. This site is the best because of the friends it has had over the years. I know your working to keep it that way. I appreciate everthing you guys do. Hitch
