    Browning BSS

I like to hunt with double guns, one of my go to guns is a 30" 12 gauge BSS still M/F. Its deadly with bismuth 2 3/4" or 3". The Browning BSS is built like a tank and not a light gun but not light is good for waterfowling. I just wish it had double triggers.

Be careful of the company you keep

I too would love a Becker Super Fox till then I shoot an Ithaca NID 10 Magnum, at least as rare and classic. I prefer to hand load short 2 7/8 bismuth food for it. Arthur Armstrong Broadbill for transport. I do love goretex and neoprene though, oh and outboard motors, love motors...

    16ga. 3 inch American Shotguns?

in that era, any of the manufacturers would do custom work if requested, so a 3" chamber would have been an in-expensive change from Parker, Fox, Ithaca, Winchester or whomever for a double gun.

Don Thomas has been fired by DU

I am an east cost Atlantic Flyway guy but if there is no access there is no hunting except for the rich and eventually there wont be enough conservation voters if there are no hunters, so then not even the rich. I guess the Izaak Walton League can use the money I have been sending to DU, I am...

    Author Armstrong broadbill

I have an 80's vintage Broadbill by Arthur Armstrong, mine was made in Kernersville, NC. I have copies of the original brochure which list 3 models of available boats, the Broadbill, the Wigeon, and the Sneaker. They also sold boat plans, gun cabinets, decorative and gunning decoys, log cabins...

    ported barrell

Aint no way - under no circumstances..... They are really loud even on a skeet field, also I have been hit with stuff coming out of the ports, I don't know if it was shot or wad plastic goo, but no way I am sitting in a blind or a pit next to one and neither is my dog.

    NDR Iditarod

find a book called Winterdance by Gary Paulson. It is the funniest book I have ever read. It his about his decision to run the Iditarod having never done any dog sledding before.

    What's in your library?

I use a freeware library program called BookDB. It is a pain to type it all in but once you have it it saves you from buying something twice. I have 663 hunting & fishing books in the data base. Probably 50 or so that I need to enter and a few to delete....

    Duck Hunters...Irresponsible Piggish Slobs?

if it is a lottery draw for a blind, someone knows who's been there and they should be fined and lose the opprtunity to hunt there. I really don't get it we come by boat, if it fit in the boat on the way there it fits on the way back. I always seem to come home with a boat load of other peoples...

Mojo decoys or any other type of spinning wing decoys ?

I draw the line at goretex neoprene and fiberglass. otherwise I will stick with my cork decoys and doubleguns. Motorized decoys are an abomination we shoould be stiving to be stewards of the resource and keepers of a tradition not killers and poacher wannabes.

    DRAKE wader Question

I cant speak to the Drakes although I like some of their other stuff. I am 3 years into my 2nd pair of Cabela's Ultimate Hunting Waders in 15 years. Best waders I have ever owned and with the stout being offered shot guys can get waders that fit.

    Older Shotgun Question

the concern is that steel doesnt compress when going through the chokes so you have the possibility of a ring bulge in front of the choke if the shot bridges there. There is less concern if the choke is more open and the shot sizes are smaller. With doubles there is also concern about the same...
