    Mercury Outboard

I had an early 80's 25hp two-stroke that was great, never a problem. Old age became a problem (for me, not the motor!) though, and I replaced it with a 15hp electric start 4 stroke. Probably weighs more than the 25, but they've both been great motors. I'd buy Mercury again in a heartbeat. Gary

    Took an early morning walkabout

I don't post here much at all, but your photos are awesome and inspired me to say so (I'm a believer in the "unspoken praise has no value" sentiment)! I like photos of dogs at play as much as I do of dogs at work. Just delightful shots! Gary

    NDR - Turkey Question

When I lived in South Carolina, working for the National Wild Turkey Federation, we deep-fried most of the birds. Use peanut oil. Yum. Still have my turkey deep frier, just haven't turkey hunted much since those days. Gary

    Boat Help

The Lund Alaskan is an extremely popular boat in Maine's waters, at least for sea duck hunting. Perhaps its v-hull is unsuitable for your needs, but it surely fills the bill up there. My Lund is 30+ years old, and has not the first leak anywhere and has been used and abused mightily for all...

    NDR-Tablesaws and Miter Saws

"It's a advantage for one thing your wife or significant other will never ask to store things in there. You sneaky devil...( : o ) It's all yours" That's a great point and actually very true! She avoids my "cave" at all costs, too. You might get a kick out of a tour of that place, here...

    NDR-Tablesaws and Miter Saws

Steve is SO on the money about, if you can possibly avoid it, not having your assembly (or whatever you want to call it) bench double as your outfeed table for your table saw. My shop is small, only 20X30, and to accomodate a 4X8 table, I had to couple it up with the saw. Here's what you run...

    Shoulder Replacement NDR

She's as tough an Irish woman as you'll ever run into. It was the same shoulder, and we had to go to Boston to have it done. It had to be a "reverse" installation; she has no rotator cuff left, and her bones are in tough shape due to osteonecrosis. She got a lot of range of motion back, but...

    Shoulder Replacement NDR

For the record, there is complete shoulder replacement surgery. My lovely partner Bridget has had it done twice in the past 20 years. Gary

    Duck Boat Hull Question

I would kill for a Lund Alaskan. Use my 14' Lund for Casco Bay sea ducking. the 18 foot Alaskan would be awesome.
