    Here's a neat 17 footer....

Found this online recently. http://www.wranglerboats.com/db17.htm Looks really clean. I've hunted of the 15 footer before and it is a very nice rig. This 17 might fill a niche. Best, Steve

    Question for the oil painters...

I am finishing up 4 greenheads for my friend's rig. I have tried a "new" technique (to me) of glazing. They turned out better than I thought. However, is there a some type of glaze I can put on to "blend" everything together? Everything is very crisp, but I am looking for a softer finish...

Wee need to know why this is bing sprayed on us.

The only thought on my mind as I watched this "piece" was if Maxine Waters (or any other politician for that matter) could really spell aluminum. Our current administration is so incompetent, I have to doubt an "organized" effort to thwart the dangers of global warming. Best, Steve

    Sneakbox Comfort Tips?

The closed cell mat is a great tip. If you have a dog, you may want to try a large piece of neoprene and wrap it around you and the dog. The heat from each other will help keep you warm (esp dawg). Best, Steve

Saving the Duck Population one duck at time!

Good gawd Man, that duck has a prettier face than you!!!! No wonder you're single. Neat narrative, but he left out the end of the story: He was later given a ticket by the Indiana DNR for illegally handling waterfowl...... Steve

    Argentina Hunt

Hi Bill, What region will you be hunting? I am heading down the 3rd week of June, and our location has already changed because of drought. The duck hunting has been challenging the last few winters because of dry weather. May want to inquire before you head down. Best, Steve

Sandhill Crane Hunting Coming To Your State

I had a conversation yesterday about this with one of my patients who is one of the nine commissioners for KY Fish and Wildlife. The Feds gave approval for 800 birds, but KY decided to keep it conservative at 400. When the season was proposed, the "birders" out of Louisville cried wolf. As of...

    Super bowl

I am really looking forward to the game!! The Pack was one of my favorite teams as a kid growing up, but being a western PA boy, I have to go with the Steelers!! Packers have some on strong; Rogers et al are playing good ball, and the Steelers are beat up. BUT, don't count Ben out...

    New gun selection

I'll echo what Travis said about the 887. My hunting buddy brought his up to Manitoba this October for our trip, and it gave him problems the entire trip. Not closing all the way, not kicking out the shell when shucked. Also had a misfire where the firing pin didn't dent the primer enough...

    Metoprolol NDR

That is the most common side effect with metoprolol. Over time it will get better, but most still report some type of fatigue. Bystolic is a newer beta blocker (more expensive non generic) that works by a different mechanism of action at lower doses. It does not cause fatigue like...

    Bankes Hercules Feedback

Sorry for the misunderstanding; when the tender is on the water, take the layout boat cross ways on the bow of the tender. When traveling down the highway, turn the boat parallel with the tender. You'll probably have to build some type of rack to support it in transit. Best of luck, Steve

    Bankes Hercules Feedback

Awesome boat! Very "luxurious" and comfortable for us big guys! As you pointed out, it is heavier, but it can be towed. You can run it across the gunwales, but that will depend on the size of your tender. Just have to use common sense on how much weight your boat can handle. Best, Steve

Seaworthiness of Tender - 24' Lone Star

Good morning Paul, So from your post, I assume you are going to be hunting out of the boat in open water and not using it as a tender for layout hunting?? You are basically looking for a wide open work boat? I'll share my experience. I was in a similar situation, and it is very...

    MLB Classic Riggin

Congrats Kirk on your purchase. You'll really enjoy the boat!! I made my harness for the stern by taking a 2" brass ring, 3 pieces of heavy double braid nylon rope, and 4 small football shaped net floats. I tied a bowline loop to each eye of the boat. I then brought the line out so it was...
