Glad to see everyone's hard work. About 6 more weeks to get them finished up for the swap. We still need at least one more person to make it an even swap. we currently have 17 people, would like to see an 18th. If not, I will kick in another one of my decoys to even the group. Let everyone know how you are progressing and let me know as you finish so I can update the list.

Dave,
Even with an odd number of contributors, you could still just pass on to the next person in a list of names say drawn from a hat. The last name passes on to the first on the list. Completely random after names are drawn and placed in order as drawn.
Just a thought.

Ha! Now that's damn good thinking right there Kevin! The easiest answer to solve the problem was right in front of my face, thanks for pointing that out.

Finally got this thing all sealed up and keel installed. This received two coats of spar and two coats of Kilz2. The keel is composite decking, recessed over an inch into the foam and gorilla glued and a bead of caulk around where it meets the bottom. I put an eye on each end for an extra tie off point. I'm using Liquitex Basics for the paint and will give it a couple coats of Krylon Matte Finish when I'm done.

Here it is with the black and white blocked on, and a little work on the bill. I still have some more work as far as shading, the head colors, and touching things up a bit, but it's almost there!!! It WILL be ready for the swap.

Dave,
This is your deal for sure, but why the need for an even number of entries? 17 people...first person is lets say you, you draw the bird you get. You pull my name, my bird goes to you. You then draw for me to see who's bird I get. Whoever is sending a bird to me gets picked for next......continue until all names are drawn, last name in hat gets your bird.

Thanks Dave. Yes, someone else already pointed this out an you both are correct. The swap will go just fine with an uneven amount of people.

Dave,

I have to make a "tweak" on my goldeneye and I will post up a picture. It is basically complete at this point. By Monday I should have a posted picture of it.
Was trying to get a woody done in time, but my work schedule has been beating me up a bit.

Dave

These canvas decoys are nice to build. I don't know if you saw James, the traveling decoy, but that inspired me to try canvas. That and the birds Chuck posts. Chuck is a great resource for canvas decoys.
