Thanks for that. Whatever I end up using will get dp40- 401. Then Parkers duck paint.Ash is the traditional gunwale wood for canoes. Hard, bendable, pretty rot resistant if you keep it oiled or varnished.

You know it! That’s who I purchased the okoume ply from for this build. Cool people, friendly and helpful.You can call south Jersey lumberman's. He's in mayslanding he carries mahogany and other wood for boat building even marine ply at good prices.
