Have always admired your work Bob, fantastic!Socked in pretty good with snowfall this weekend.
I have a ringbill trio in the works - two drakes & a hen, so plenty to keep me busy.
Did get out without Scooter last week, and had a knot of ringers in the set.

its really not recommended... I havent been so excited for a season to end since I even knew waterfowl. I am burnt out on waking up early, getting out of bed at 2 am, and kind of cant wait to spend a day in the shop manipulating foam and airbrushing. I may not make the january workbench, but I should surely make the Feb one. Really not sure what birds I am going to do first yet... time will tell.Really nice decoys in all these posts - very talented folks! I can tell this site is going to feed my addictive nature. I make metal reed calls... if I actually build my own boat I can see I'm going to have to learn to make some of my own decoys, too. Maybe it would be better if I hadn't found this site!![]()
Is there anything shop related you don’t restore and make look new???Inbetween hunts and being sick I've been making a hammer rack. Almost done. Need to sand, apply finish, and mount to the wall. Should help tidy up some old hammers I restored that have been lying all over the bench.

Nice work Eric, I spy some lock joint work on the top. Keeping the machine busy?Inbetween hunts and being sick I've been making a hammer rack. Almost done. Need to sand, apply finish, and mount to the wall. Should help tidy up some old hammers I restored that have been lying all over the bench.

I built a simple hammer rack years ago that keeps the handles vertical to take up less shop space.

Pretty looking work Eric. Those hammers look a little too nice to use. I think Id move the jackets to the bottom row so the blades don't bang my knuckles when removing a tool from a lower row.Richard
Yep, the Morgan Lock Corner machine was used for the project. I settled on this design due to space requirements and the tight spot where it will go. I need to access from the front so I made it where the hammers pull straight out, kind of like a wine rack. The hammers are held in place by gravity. The below pic shows what I'm talking about.
turned away from the workbench to the other side of my shop. Putting some work on my little duck boat. I took the frame for this scissor blind off my H12 kayak. Had to add a few feet. When folded down it goes just inside the gunwales. The boat is a Lowe 12x36 and fits in my pickup bed. It doesn't weigh much. I've been using a kayak for several years but age is creeping up on me. Getting in and out of a kayak is tougher every year. This will work nice in sloughs and small lakes. Just need to add my camo netting this summer and take it for a spin.
