March "What's on your Workbench?"

Yup it's a lot of work....but it will be well worth it....no stinky moldy smelly camper....no leaking in the camper....AC during the summer on fishing trips.....oooooohhhhhhh yea it'll be worth it

and Trip...I can tear most anything up....ask most anyone who's been around me for a while hahahah I'm good at destroying things....it's the getting them back together that is challenging for me

Dani

Me too on the tearing things up part. I find if I take a lot of pics on disassembly, it helps going back together. You can always get a firefighter with boots to help. Hehehehe. Trip

Pat,

As Paul once pointed out during a discussion of your decoys, they are always moving. Though they are sitting still you always give them that appearance of being on the move. Love it. Thanks for sharing.

Andrew

Pat those Hoodies are totally COOL!! When were both dead; you will be famous and I will just be dead :)

Andrew - it's the little things that make the difference, tiltling the head up just a hair or turning it slightly to the left. To me, every decoy has to be doing something. Otherwise it's just a duck sitting in the water...

Hitch - In Heaven, there will be no fame. We will be worshipping our King. Save me a seat... :)

I appreciate the kind words guys... Pat

Nice work everybody.

I'll let you guys guess the species on this one...North American Duck is the only clue!

Looks like a whistling duck to me. Just a guess, since I have never been that far south.

Black Bellied Whistling Duck it is! The funny thing is I used the front end of the head pattern to do my Pintail frond. So I saw a little pintail too...

This is a teal i am carving for my wife. I will give her the decoy for our anniversary this spring. Its the first carving ive done in about 6 years. The itch got to be to much so i had to get back into it. I hope to work on a small spread of gunning blocks for next season.

Geoff - My old buddy Virgil Lashbrook when he moved down to Texas used to call them "black bellied squealers". Can't wait to see the skin on it. Great work as always... Pat
