You might have snuck away too early. Doug and I hit breakfast at Riley's and then headed up to scout around at a farm property we have permission to hunt. I'd estimate that between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 we must've seen 1,000 geese. Group after group in all sizes , came over pretty much non-stop. It's staring to thaw here, and they're definitely on the move looking to eat and locate open water.
Gonna load up the layouts, goose decoys and pickleweeds this afternoon, so we can try 'em in the morning and see if any are interested in what we have to offer. At worst it's going to be a good day spent with my son and a nice break for lunch at the Indian Creek Tavern (best white-bean chicken chili in the world!)
