Tim,
Exactly what you should be doing in this cold weather!

Finished up on mallard hens today. Time to start on the drake. Will set these aside and just "look" at them from different angles for a while before doing one last session to add the little details :

Day started here at below zero. When I got in the studio at 1 p.m., it had climbed to 5. When I quit at four, it was 6 degrees.

Chris i'll be over for the party, haha.

We made apple pie moonshine for ice fishing last year. It keeps you warm

Heading to camp in a few weeks, hopefully get to do some ice fishing. Will behave a couple jars in the sled if we do.

My first can I have carved. Pete gave me some of his old blocks a while back and we repainted them so i have painted a few already.

It has to be primed and ready for paint by wednesday, sometimes homework isn't that bad. haha

Sweet birds MlB.
I feel your pain with the colder weather. Its amazing to me that after a few weeks or single digits it feels warm when the temp soars above 20. When it gets to 30 I'm wearing shorts and tee shirts.

Lets get this back on the first page.

Not the best picture its washed out and the decoy had been sitting for two days after the final paint so all the pigment and linseed oil is curing and giving it that uneven look. I just hope it looks good enough by Saturday and bring them good money at the auction. Oil paints are a strange thing a few days after you paint. Lots of highs and lows in the paints. Its on its way down to the guys in IL for a fundraiser and man did I have to pack it carefully it still had some wet paint on the bottom.

Thanks Dave I am a big fan of your birds. I try to carve these canvas birds as true to the tradional Currituck birds as I can. The lines though are mine. I never copy patterns - not that I think its wrong. Just like creating my own lines.
