November Workbench thread

Those handles are absolutely awesome Steve...great work! Very inspirational.

Geoff...great decoy too, love the paint and everything else about that block.

my two youngest daughters, 7 and 8 only wanted a carved swan decoy and a gun for Christmas. They understood after their mother said that we would not be having a full sized swan in the house that a mini would be the limit. Since they share a room I figured a matched pair would look cool.

couple days in the deer blind, couple days in the duck pit and I might have them ready for paint.

Hey Tom

Go big or stay home! 48" bill to tail.

Just kidding, looks good.

Chuck I really do not appreciate the "mine is bigger than yours" flavor to your posting. HAHA

We shall talk canvas swans when I see you next.

Tom: I just noticed the ink pen next to the cut-outs for size reference. Those are very petite. Your daughters will love them.

I like the idea of carving in the deer stand. I have some red cedar goose heads to carve and that should make the perfect masking scent and make it easier to sit still. (I tend to get fidgety).

Tom those are going to be some cute little swans. Those girls of yours have good ideas for Christmas.

I look forward to it.

Chuck

PS I realized those were small, but I missed the pen...holy crap those are tiny!

I like the size of them.....as far as the canvas birds go. You can check out a pair of Chicks in December.

First off, there should be two and a half swans by now...secondly, there should be a 'U' instead of an 'I'

Chuck

As far as the two and a half.....get the other half down here we're waiting on ya (hope the neck is getting better)

As far as the U versus the I.....that was a happy opps :) sometime mistakes are funnier then jokes!

Pat,

I always love the look of your decoys but those canvasbacks really are amazing. I bet they will look great on the water.

Firewood for the winter split & stacked; trying to stay ahead of the leaves; plugs & lower unit gear-lube changed; and a bunch of birds in the studio base-coated, textured, and ready for painting. Latest two are this high head black, and a mallard hen with a tucked&turned head. Bring on the season!
