Whats on the workbench in June?

How the heck are ya, Jeff? Haven't heard from you in forever!

i'm good. busy with nursing school and raising babies. don't really have time to do anything else!

hope you and laura are doing well

Jeff remember whatever they say to you in nursing school just go with the flow, raise no waves, cause no issues. They all hate you because your a guy just get through it and away from them.

Nice birds everyone. Great hoodie Eric. When ever I hear the term 'hoodie', that is what I think of not a sweatshirt.

Tom, I expected a lot of that before I started (the hate because you are a guy). I have to say I haven't had to experience it at all (yet). OB clinicals start tomorrow. I'll be done in december...so I've basically figured out exactly what they want. You are right, it's do exactly what they say and don't argue. I call it "doing the dance." they want me to dance, i dance.

clinicals have been great. 99% of the nurses have been helpful in clinical. I'm assigned female patients, counted off for not fully assessing (foley etc) so in that regard I've had great clinical instructors. they expect the same from me as anyone else. It helps that there are quite a few of us guys in class (I would guess that when you graduated in the 90's if i remember correctly it wasn't that way).

I look forward to getting back to work though.. school sucks ;)

Hanging up one's apron is like carving decoratives and calling them decoys!~! Your apron is the best protection from the sound of the snapping shaft.

Jode,
Wow! I love your work but these are by far my favorite you have done. I don't know who they are going to but they are a lucky collector. Really nice paint.

Pat posting pictures of decoy pairs he just goes out to the shop and knocks out got me to feeling like a slacker. So yesterday I made myself knock out this pair. They are not as smooth looking at Pat's decoys yet. I do a rough sanding like this, hollow and glue. then I do final cuts and sanding after glue. Hope to get to the hollowing and glued today.

That shop looks like it has some character. How big is it? I wouldn't cover the wood floor with anything. They are perfect for a workshop. The imperfections look good and for woodworking that type of floor is vastly superior to concrete. Maybe a refinish, but never a cover. Ever drop a chisel on a concrete shop floor? I have and a rainbow of expletives followed. You might want to consider putting those black sponge rubber fatigue mats down in front of the lathe, bandsaw, or any other spot you will stand for long periods of time. They are easier on the feet.

Great work everyone. I absolutely love those mallard heads for field hunting in the stubble. Going to have to give a few of those a try. Im Working on a Black, a Can and 8 woodies at the moment.

Inside dimensions of this part is 17 by 13, the painting room is 13 x 11, and the area under a shed roof that needs to be rebuilt is 30x 12.

Gee Roy, looks just like to one I had just put up my site. Kinda why I stopped responding to all your " how do you do that" e-mails

Sean love those wigeon and the pintail fliers. Very very nice.

Some great birds there guys. Glad this post continued.

Brandon - You're far from a slacker. Anyways, not racing here. Just capitalizing on good weather out in the shop. Come July/August, it will be a hot bath in my shop here in Illinois. My goal is to have 24-30 to paint by then in the basement where's it's cool...

Nice work. Pat

I started carving foam decoys out of the 2" pink insulation foam. I messed around with a few patterns here and there until I got the buffy pattern the way I wanted. I just finished burlaping this one with mastic and burlap that's why I have it out in the sun. I am also working on a few brant decoys. Hope these work and I can have brant and buffies this season.
