Whats on the workbench in June?

Made a little dust the other day. Hopefully I can finish this one before the end of June.

It's a black duck for a friends best friend that passed. A black lab who's first and last retrieves were a black duck .

Finished painting some drakes from a rig I posted up earlier this month. Bad cell phone pic. I tried to keep the paint scheme simple. They will hit the marsh this fall. On to the hens.

Thanks Brandon. No real reason behind it, Just something I felt like doing. I used to raise Quail and just like them.

Lots of painting, my least favorite part of making decoys. 5 repaints and 4 new carvings.

Here's the whole bench

The eight pickleweeds I'm adding were on the Val-Oil table soaking it up. The humidity dragged things out.

Looking forward to setting these out in numbers during the upcoming season.

Bob, Awesome work on this site, but those pickleweeds just get me fired up for hunting season. I can see those bad boys sticking up in a corn field and the mallards just sailing in. I gotta make some of those. Very Cool!

Bob is the mallard a pattern bird for the others to be based off of?

Hank funny you would say what you did. There was a time I felt the same way and hated painting. I now rush carving at times to begin the painting only part I can't stand is sanding

Just one out of the group I already have to remind me what I did that worked ( or didn't); what I know and what I don't. Sometimes that helps, but some times it reminds me to never make the same mistake twice.... make a new one ;-)
Don' t think I'll add all that painted grass this time.... or who knows, maybe I will.

Bob:
Love this different look for a Hunting Rig. Let me know if you would like to sell a Drake Mallard, love to add it to my hunting Rig. Great Job. Dave D.

Finally had some time to carve. I haven't had much to contribute lately so i thought i'd post.
Plug i had to make for a knot hole.
