Actually Brian, I'm glad to see them. All of these great photos get turned into reference pics for carved birds, so I am glad to see so many "thorn" down. Much easier to carve gunning birds this way. Thanks

If anyone is REALLY interested, Woodenboat did a series of acticles on an 18' Simmons about 4 years ago. Ellis Rowe was the author if I remember correctly. While the 18 is smaller and the sides are not nearly as high, the build procedure is similar. I think the plans are still available...

You say the first two shots are about 1/2" and the third is 1"+? Someone else can probably answer this better than I, but is the barrell heating and "throwing" the third shot? Is the 3rd shot consistently the flyer? P.S. I just wish I could shoot with than accuracy. I am of no help for that.
