12V rechargeable battery - to lithium or not to lithium

I built that same power box that I use mainly for ice fishing and camping. Mine uses 2 10ah Dakota lithium batteries. They're not cheap but they are lighter and more durable. Nice to have all the different charging port options and I can recharge the batteries via solar panel also.

Anyone think this could be used as a sneak boat?

    Wouldn't that be considered a sinkbox? :)

    Anyone Layout hunting anymore

Nice pictures Jim. What brand and size of tender are you using? I'm looking for something larger to get out on Lake Huron with. Your boat looks nice and deep and I like the large splashwell. Merry Christmas, Chris

Since we are on the topic of sculling?

FSU/FSD refers to "flat side up" or "flat side down" Sculling oars are curved on one surface and flat on the other. Like a cross section of an aircraft wing. If you want to start a pissing match just declare that one way is better than the other :)! Best, Chris

    My new Brant II

John, You're going to love that boat! Don't know if the prior owner told you, but stuff a rag between the backrests and the hull to prevent road vibrations from wearing a hole through the hull when traveling. It happens surprisingly fast. Have fun, Chris

    NDR-Drill press chuck removal

Thanks guys, I knew you would have the answer. It did have a threaded collar above the chuck but only one vertical slot cut into the collar, no holes to use a spanner. I was able to tap a screwdriver in the slot to get it turning. I thought my original problem was with a bearing because I was...

    NDR-Drill press chuck removal

I'm trying to remove the chuck on my Delta radial arm drill press in order to replace a bearing but I can't figure out how to get it out. My last drill press had a slot in the quill to drive a wedge into that would pop the chuck out but this one doesn't. Any hints? Thanks, Chris

Way NDR question for the SE Michigan Guys

Paul, Eastern Market is primarily a wholesale food market. It's where all the Detroit area restaurants and markets get there meat and produce. I've never seen many craft or flea market vendors there. You might consider talking to some of the vendors about buying your items or selling on...
