Whats on the workbench in April.

Decided to start on the little woodrow (spatter painted side pocket):

Now I get to sit & watch the Masters.

MLBob

Heck I feel like I am watching a master every time I read one of your posts. Nice work, keep posting.

Got to love it that a guy named "Bubba" won at Augusta. Sounds like somebody that might wear a flannel shirt ;-)

Bob, Geoff and Pat fantastic looking birds as always. Very much looking forward to seeing the finished articles.

Bob you were talking about church, had a little chuckle yesterday. We think we take shooting and carving seriously!! My mother in law is in charge of the church flower ladies, and my wife sent me up there early on saturday morning to show of the granddaughter in her easter bonnet, she is 18months old. So there we sat in the back of the church after all the little old English ladies had finished with the Rs and Os over the grand daughter and we watch this group of 7 God celebrating mid aged ++ women trying to sort out who was doing the font and was so and So,s flowers quite right. Was extremely interesting to watch. Think I will take my chances with a knife wielding giant any time. Than mess with the flower ladies....... After the flowers were finished they could not have been a closer group of friends. Think it's good there is always a bit of competition, even in Gods house. Hope every one had a good one.

Slum? That's offensive! Where are the mods around here anyway?;-)

On a more serious note though....Are you ever going to actually carve another cedar decoy Chuck, or should we get you some crotchet needles?

Another? That would insinuate I've actually carved one previously...Once upon a time I did a couple basswood bodies, but cedar, no?

However I have grand plans to redeem myself this summer with a half dozen BSC mud hens...grand plans indeed...plus some plywood sillys...Y-boards and Body booding sillys (you listening Robinson!)

Geoff, take note, I didn't tease you about the sandpaper AGAIN. Actually these are a couple of my favorite deeks of yours I've seen naked...I have a thing for cork deeks...almost a fetish...in fact, the more I look at that sleeper, the more I'm feeling almost aroused...(Andrew, now you can feel offended, feel free to report me to the moderators)

Cork? Slum??? I guess that makes me the "Slumlord". Come to think of it, I have some cork in the breast of my canvas geese...

My humble offerings of 5 mallard, 3 drakes and 2 hens. These are for me so I have been playing with styles a couple of tradition decoys and 3 with a delaware river feel. They need to be strip sanded to get rid of any flat spots, eyes in and they they are ready for paint. sorry about the quality of the photo it was taken on my phone.

What do you expect when you have a lowly seamstress make your goose bodies

First time out in the shop since Westlake...really worked my butt off developing a new design...

Started with the bottom board:

If I get some time toinght, I'll work on "shaping the body", since everyone says there are no flat spots on a duck, I'm also pretty sure this rule applies to swans as well.

Same rule apply to traffic cones as well? :>) :>)

I can't say it looks like a swan's butt quite yet, but I'm sure it will get there.

Ok, crotchet needles it is. I'll get you some pretty yarn too as my sister in-law works at a sewing store.

When you headed Pauly's way again girly man?
