    Breathables vs neoprene

Have you guys checked out USIA? They will custom fit a pair of breathables with 7 mm neoprene Bogs boots I believe they are. The chest area goes up to the armpits and they are pretty much armor proof. Same company that makes the military drysuits and other water proof clothing for them.

    Looking to buy new shotgun

I've had an SX3 the past 7 years. It has never failed me even in temps as low as 10 degrees. I'm not religious about cleaning it but I do run Otis dry lube rather than an oil. This thing feels good and fits me well. You can't go wrong with one. I have buddies that shoot the versamax and they all...

    My end to 2014

Steven, This is it. A 20' Alumaweld super vee. Double duty fishing and hunting machine. A little too big to hide at times but I made it work. This summer I plan on trying to devise a blind that doesn't require drilling or bolting. Will try using the rod holder mounts in fabricating a PVC blind.

    My end to 2014

Believe it or not I called it a season at 8:30 Sunday morning. I shot my Can at 7:15 and had the 3 greater bills by 7:30. Before 8 I shot the beautiful little buffy and then watched more bills divebomb the decoys as well as sleep in the spread for a good half hour. Tide was coming in and I...

    The perfect limit???

That's about as good as it gets for divers Fred. Nice limit. Here on the lower Columbia I shot more cans this year than I've shot in my entire 35 years of hunting ducks. I also shot an immature redhead drake which I've never seen down this way. I've heard of a few more reds taken so maybe...

    Thirty five years ago

Bill, You reawakened some memories of that winter and my second season hunting ducks. There was so much ice on any standing water we couldn't chop holes in it. But, when we found some open water in a creek it was gangbuster shooting. Thanks for the memories!

    Crippled Bluebill...

I love it! Bringing in cripples is what we have em for. Just wish there didn't seem to be so many bluebills that are cripples, tough birds.

    Inexpensive camo options?

Carl, Thanks. That's kind of the idea I had but connecting and keeping everything in place had me stumped. Earl

    Inexpensive camo options?

Hey all, I have a 20' Alumaweld super vee that I need some ideas on how to camo it up without paint and/or drilling holes in it. I do have 3 rod holder sliders on each side. I was thinking PVC through the rod holders and then a makeshift framework to support camo netting. This is as far as...

    The perfect duckboat?

Do they make such a thing? I've been looking for a boat that I can use for on the Columbia River in pretty nasty conditions while also running in minimal amounts of water. I've been looking at johns and semi v's and haven't found exactly what I would like to own. I found one the other day that...

Storing long lines on electrical cord reels?

We use the cord reels and it works out well for our situation. If I had a bigger boat, I would try the bags idea and leave everything attached. I did see a guy that had a reel that attached to the gunnel of the boat and fed line out like a downrigger. He got it from duck solutions. I can't find...

    Ground Duck/Goose

I've mixed with some type of pork in the past and it works well for keeping the duck or goose meat from just falling apart. I like the apples idea. Duck/goose burgers are great and I can just imagine what the apples would do for flavor.

    Painting a portable gas tank

Not sure of any laws but it's painted now so I guess I'll find out.

    Painting a portable gas tank

Here's where I'm at. Scrubbed the tank with soap and water and a good stiff brush. Then scrubbed with a mixture of 60/40 vinegar to water. After drying, sprayed entire tank with spray on bedliner. Then camo painted to look broken up. First day today, one little rub with a decoy bag and tank red...
