Free to a Good Home: Rain

No thanks on the skeeters Carl. You can keep down there in Mobile. Rain too as we have had enough rain this year. Rare as we normally get too little or too much. Only trouble weather wise is that a cold front came through just before the dove opener and a lot of the mourners hauled tail...

Good news and more good news!

Congrats Paul, So glad that "Rubber Ducky" is going to be after her Dad's own heart. Hope my Grandson's first words will be equally inspiring. I've already bought Jacob AKA "Little Bear" a rod and reel and a shotgun. Shotgun will be presented after he succeesfully completes a hunter safety...

My biggest fish ever! And another first...

Nice Red Drum Dani Beth. I have caught very few reds. We catch a lot of Black Drum where we fish and Becky caught a sixty eight pounder last year. The Black Drum is nowhere near as pretty as the Red and some folks like to eat Reds. Some people say that they are wormy, but my bud who eats them...

Wood that should be called Poison Ivy

Eric, Betwen allergic reactions to wood and Cassie chasing skunks you are having one h of a summer. Hope you didn't have to take a leak. That really would be a disaster huh? I know masks, goggles, gloves and long sleeves are no fun in the summer heat but considering the posible outcome...

    Payload vs. Speed

Carl, I have experimented with just about every 12 guage steel load you can name. I have settled in with the 1 1/4 oz load of steel 2's at 1400 fps made by Federal. I occasionally use some of the Hevi shot type stuff in 3's and 5's and really like it. Just can't afford to use it all the time...

A great day that ended up in the Emergency Room (NDR and tons of Photos)

Todd, I am envious except for the snap. We don't have vistas like that where I live. Good thing is I'm only an hour from the Atlantic except when there is a hurricane coming. Don't put any weight on that ankle and it will be all better by the start of the Main Event. Thanks for...

    Chance turned 1....

Pic of Chance as a little pup drew a big Awww' from my wife Becky. Thanks for the post. Chance is a pretty dog (80 pounds already). You are obviously feeding him well. Send him down to Eric P. for some skunk avoidance training, Bwahahaha. Good on you, Harry

    Lowe Jumbo 16 V??

Money is tight everywhere Bubba. Lots of boats on the market now for cheap. I had even thought about(only briefly) selling my Grady White but I've decided to give things another year. If I run across a rig like that for $800, I might would borrow from my pension fund. Only trouble is my 15...

Good News on the Chesapeake:More duck food and better habitat for crabs & fish.

I feel your pain Michael but am so glad the grasses are coming back. Lowe Jumbo 16 V??

Carl, That mid seat like most of that type of boat serves as a structural support. I had a 14' starcraft years ago that the seat was broken on so I removed it and quickly found out that the boat would twist while underway at any speed with two people in the boat, I attached to 14' long juniper...

    Concealed weapos vote today

I carried for years illegally before NC passed a CCW. Before that we had to get a permit from the Sheriff of your county of residence to buy a handgun. Didn't necessarilly give you permission to carry it, just to own it. Don't know of too many straight up citizens getting busted for concealed...

    stole a gun last night

Gary, I have no clue what a sabatti (I defer to Joe O on gun prices) retails for but if it does what you want it to do and you shoot it well any shotgun except an old single barrell or bolt action ought to be worth $350.00. Heck some of the guys around here are buying up all the old bolt...

    Replacing Floor on Jon Boat

Ken, I have to agree with Eric, I use AC fir and when it rots out I repalce it . Cheap enough to continue the program for the life of the jon. I drill holes in the plywood and cross braces and the use large aluminum rivets to attach the flooring,as when the floor rots out as it surely will...

    Another broadbill

I wouldn't have passed that up as broke as I am either. I think it's a good buy. Bet my 15 would push it just great. So you could sell me the Broadbill or I could sell you the Yamaha (has only 12 hrs. on it). Best, Harry

    Latest boat build...

One day would love to see a big boat factory in Salisbury named Taylor Boats. We already have a boat factory in Greenville... Grady White. No foolin Brad, you build a beautiful boat and there is definitely a market as David and others have shown to those of us who are "build challenged"...

    NDR Northern Lights

Thanks Jack, I'd darn sight rather travel to Montauk than to Alaska to see them. A lot cheaper and a lot less time consuming for me. What time of year did you see them in Montauk ? Best, Harry
